Without trying to sound too antagonistic, I think the fact that it is not Japanese is one of the reasons people don't like Pump (or ITG for that matter). I get the impression that many people only play DDR because it comes from the land of ANIMU! ^_~ and Pocky. It's just like the people in my Japane...

I had considered checking the game out since it was only $20, but then I decided to spend that $20 on Phantom Dust instead. It sounds like I made the right choice...

Next time in Indy, I'll have to stop by and try it out. I've enjoyed the Exceed 1 machine here in Bloomington. My only complaints are that I haven't found any songs I really like on it yet, and that if you're playing 2 player both people have to select the same difficulty. I can't speak for Exceed 2...

I don't know how feasable this is, but something that might be interesting is if when rating a post you had a text box where you could enter a reason why you were giving that particular rating. I honestly don't know if that would help or exacerbate things though.

The PSP itself doesn't have any region locking, it is up to the developers to decide if they want region codes for their specfic games.

Anything with an LCD screen can have dead pixels, regardless of how long you wait to buy one. People were complaining about that with the DS too. If that's all that's holding you back, I wouldn't worry about it.
