I'll confess to trying and having no luck thus far. My brain dump on the topic (don't read if you're trying to avoid spoilers): I'm fairly confident it's a machine language program for some unknown architecture. It consists of 2296 six-digit strings which do not appear to repeat (at least, not all o...

Yep, I submitted some rules to the arcade folks on Friday, although it sounds like they have added some additional info (about the times, which I wasn't aware of yet). I was waiting to post here until I got final approval, so I'll post the official rules here probably tomorrow. Oh, and the random p...

Fuck hitting him in the face with the ball, I would have kicked him in the nuts then stomped on his fucking head after he hit the floor. I wouldn't go that route. Sadly, modern society has these silly ideas about proportional responses, and the arcade owner might have been a little upset if someone...

Has a time for the tournies been set yet? IIRC, 5-9 p.m. each of Friday and Saturday. Of course, those are the time slots for the official events - qualifiers (on Friday) and freestyle/technical tournaments (on Saturday). The impression I have is that the machine will be available all day Saturday....

You know sometimes, when I drink a coke, I feel happy, but at other times, I just wanna shoot someone in the head. Does that make me crazy? :) No, no, you've got cause and effect reversed again. The fact that you're crazy makes you feel like that... Since this is a random thoughts thread ...

Update for those following the tourney from afar: The tourney has been "officially" announced at X-Scape - there's a flyer on the machine, registration forms are available at the counter, rules are being given out, etc. This happened yesterday at around 6:00 (IIRC). The rules which are available are...

Yea for PCs running off batteries!!! Get ready for a big storm. After all, you can predict the weather in Indy by looking to Terre Haute. Thanks for revealing that you have a decent UPS. Next time this happens I'll abduct it so I can use it to power the Nuclear Physics Lab. :P Oh, and for more rand...

Nah. Actually, the whole thing started as a joke in the first place. :D Oh, so I don't get an excuse to give a break-of-dawn theremin concert like this guy ? Damn. I knew it was too good to be true. [Edit: I feel I should explain that my response wasn't entirely serious either, just in case someone...

...I take back the comment about the majority of intelligent existing on IndyDDR. Lol. :p ROTFL. Is this in response to my tongue-in-cheek futurist speculation, or the ensuing conversation about theremins? Because if you're dissing theremins, bewarned: I have a scary amplifier, and I can come play ...

I pretty much own an entire lab setup: Scope, multiple signal generators, frequency counter, a couple bench supplies (different in various ways), multimeter, temp controlled soldering iron, etc. When you do the crazy stuff I do, those things come in handy.  Bastard. [/envy] I have no r...
