Really? Well, memories are very...skewed things. As DDR in its early incarnations was my first exposure to such genres as J-Pop, I remember it possibly stronger than the actual representation might depict. smile.dk, retro songs like Kung Fu Fighting...then you have the dancers and wacky backgrounds....
