There's an assortment of verbs that would express the appropriate methods in which to give gifts! Also, I stopped catching them all at 150/150.Fluffyumpkins wrote:I want to know what stuff. How can you give anything to the man who has it all?SoDeepPolaris wrote:I got some stuff.
I received:
Money from parents/grandparents (straight to car rental, plane tickets)
Full grain leather belt and How We Do Harm from my girlfriend
Pair of movie tickets (went and saw Anchorman 2 with the girlfriend) and pictures of my niece from my brother/sister-in-law
Some loose leaf tea, chocolates and whiskey stones
A 1L Erlenmeyer flask
Gloves from girlfriend's parents
Joy and happiness
Surgeon Simulator 2013, Skyrim: Dragonborn and Contagion from my Steam Secret Santa

Sounds like a nice set of gifts. What science are you doing that requires a flask?

It's not a laboratory quality one. It's more decorative, I guess. I'll probably end up mixing iced tea in it or something. HARDCORE TITRATIONS.Fluffyumpkins wrote:Sounds like a nice set of gifts. What science are you doing that requires a flask?

Re: Christmas + Discussion of Swag
I got $300 ($100 in cash, $200 deposited into my checking account)
Went clothes shopping at Kohl's, got some Kohl's cash
New shoes
Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Some Juicy Fruit gum
Subway gift card ($25)
Texas Roadhouse gift card from my boss ($25)
Starbux gift card ($15)
Buffalo Wings and Ribs gift card ($15), note that this is the local Fort Wayne restaurant, not Buffalo Wild Wings which most people are familiar with
Steak 'n Shake gift card from co-worker for secret Santa ($15)
It's more or less the exact same as last year!

Re: Christmas + Discussion of Swag
That thing basically just carbonates water, right?
Like, if I put the flavor packet or whatever with water would it taste the same?

lol, have you ever drank a soda with no carbonation? Imagine it's gone flat, except 100% flat

Sounds about right. But yeah, all it does is carbonate water. The little syrup packet goes in after the carbonation. I'll pretty much only use it for seltzer.Potter wrote:Merk wrote:Like, if I put the flavor packet or whatever with water would it taste the same?

Re: Christmas + Discussion of Swag
So, let's say hypothetically you bought a 12-pack of Schweppes and then dump a sugar packet in it, would it taste the same?
Basically what I'm getting at here is if it's viable to skip the Sodastream machine entirely and just buy the sugar like some sort of hellishly expensive Kool-Aid and dump it into some carbonated water.
