Election
How do you feel about the outcome?
Happy?
Angry?
The popular vote was fairly close, but Obama took the electoral votes by a good margin. I'm surprised he got the electoral votes in Indiana, as Republican as this state has been for decades.

Re: Election
If Obama wasn't made into a celebrity by every show on TV (SNL, Daily Show, celebrity endorsements, etc.) probably would have been different. I didn't like McCain at all though, so I prefer Obama anyways.
Re: Election
I think celebrity status was inevitable for whoever took the Democratic ticket this election...

Re: Election
I can probably live pretty well off on unemployment now. Probably, we'll have to see.
Re: Election
I fundamentally disagree with Barack Obama on many things.
However, I much prefer him to John McCain. Overall, I was glad with the outcome (if it had to be between those two), and I was also surprised (and proud) that Indiana went blue this time. I think it speaks volumes about the open-mindedness and progressiveness of this nation and this state that we were able to elect a black president with Muslim roots by a landslide margin.

At least you won't have to pay quite as much in taxes. I will since I make so many $$$$$$$$$$$$. Why does the man take my hard earned $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ I need it all to live.Merk wrote:I can probably live pretty well off on unemployment now. Probably, we'll have to see.

Re: Election
like any good Obama fan, I was running through the streets naked with pure joy all night tuesday and all day wednesday. i saw a guy in a lamborghini and dazzled him with my tight socialist ass-cheeks and helped him redistribute his wealth unfortunately he gave me herpes and that sucked a hot juicy monkey cock but i hopped into the nearest hospital and did an obama-shwoosh and they fixed me up in a jiff and didn't charge a cent
but 4 srs.. obviously i don't expect obama to be right on every issue and solve all our problems, he's only human. but what i'm most interested in in the next four years is seeing if obama can get rid of all lobbyists and stay true to his "google for government" idea and ethics reforms. i don't think it's democrats or republicans who are at fault for all our woes, but rather the political system itself. we need a system in which politicians are rewarded for doing things that are good for the country, and punished for things that are bad for the country.

Re: Election
Happy.
How could you possibly swing the other way though? When you take the ignorant, fanatical religious arguments against Obama , you will realize he is a far better man than McCain. Blind ignorance was the only thing that caused McCain to get the votes he did. This is not only a personal opinion, but in political news as well.
And that victory speech....was.....brilliant.

Re: Election
I'm glad Obama won, and I'm glad he took Indiana. It's time for the U.S. to restore its international reputation, which Bush has pretty much destroyed.

Re: Election
I think we definitely needed someone young and charismatic in office. Somebody people will listen to and be proud to follow.
Re: Election
I went in to vote, wrote in Stephen T. Colbert.
Re: Election
Woah, definitely would NOT have expected Aspen to go for Obama...
And yeah, definitely a pleasant surprise about Indiana.
