Sage's World Tour
It's like my own personal World Tour oni!
I'm on an 8-day tour of a handful of American landmarks with my dad, stepmom, and two half-brothers. 7- and 8-year old half-brothers. In the back seat with me. Yeah.
The point is, I'm also playing DDR in every state as I go. If possible.
So far, I've hit up:
New York (went there with my mom for a Broadway show before starting)
- Extreme @ a bus terminal - excellent pads, excellent value, set high scores.
Minnesota (drove straight through Illinois and Wisconsin)
- 3rd mix Korean v2 @ Mall of America - bad pads, decent value, took me a while to remember SSR code.
North Dakota
- 3rd mix Plus @ Bismarck - bad pads, bad value. Set a high score, though.
South Dakota (staying here for 4 days)
- Extreme @ Spearfish - one of the best machines I have EVER played on, bar none. The pads on the side I played on were perfect - merely touching them gave the correctly timed hit every time. You know? In addition, it was 2 tokens/play. 50 cents, WITHOUT any token deals. Someone attached fans to each side of the machine (tastefully, and they can be turned away/off), and there were cup holders on it, too. Add a nice, cool, roomy area to play in and a lot of nice tables/chairs to watch from, and...well, it's kind of a waste in SD, if you ask me. Oh, and raped the old NNS score - no one had glitched it before. 52 greats (not fantastic, but not bad for me).
I plan on hitting up Wisconsin on the way back, if possible. I'm going into Wyoming, but not near either of the machines listed on DDRfreak. ;_;
I know this doesn't really lend itself to discussion. Just...uh...saying. :3

I played on that machine in New York City not too long ago and the right side was just awful. By awful I mean I nearly failed Pop 4 Normal from all the pad misses I was getting. I'm assuming that you played on the left side in order to get the impression that the pads were good. For New York though the prices weren't too bad, if I remember it was three tokens at roughly $0.25 a token. $0.75 is much better compared to the $2 a game it normally costs in New York.
I love Ft. Wayne's cost per game!

Heh it could be worse. I just got back from Disney World, where I tried to enter the SSR code into a DDR USA machine (which won't do anything of course) at Disney/MGM Studios.pkmnx wrote: Minnesota (drove straight through Illinois and Wisconsin)

Me: Enters SSR code; nothing happens
Me: Enters SSR code again
7-year old girl watching behind me: "You just push that big green button there."

PS if you stop at the Wisconsin Dells, be sure to play some Pump. When I was there, I couldn't take ten steps without walking into a Pump machine.

So that's where all the bruises came from....mexican ninja wrote:When I was there, I couldn't take ten steps without walking into a Pump machine.
We all thought you got raped while you were there. =D
No more eggs!
An actual signature will come soon, I suppose.

So how is it a World Tour if you're staying in America? =P (Though I suppose you could get to Canada while you're up there...)
We have a DDR Extreme machine here, but I haven't tried it out yet. I've been having too much fun with the Beatmania IIdX 12 Happy Sky, Session Freaks V, Pop'N Music Red, Intial D v3, Maximum Tune 2...
(Have I mentioned that I love my arcade yet?) =P
