Amazingly, in Terre Haute, Pump is the most easily playable of all the dance games.

We have a single DDR machine. 3rd VK2 (which is awesome). However, the machine has no sound (which is not awesome). And the stage is completely dead (also not awesome). The monitor works (which is not awesome, but is at least not bad). $75c/game.

Then we come to the ITG 2 machine. You might expect a dedicab, but nosiree. You won't be getting one of those. Instead you get it running on one of those cheap chinese knockoff "DDR Extreme US" machines that Namco got duped into buying a while back. Oh the stage is great and sensitive...for about 10 seconds after it gets fixed. Then all the spacers fall off and damned if you can pass a 5. The monitor is also nothing to write home about, and the sound isn't great and is pretty soft, but at least it works. $1/game.

Then eventually you'll find the Pump machine. Running Zero, which is only one version old. Like brand spankin' new GX cabinet. This thing is TOUCHY! Monitor is a nice, giant 33" flat CRT. It's turned up a little high, but it still looks great, if you don't mind black being gray. Sound is nice and loud. You can hear it great, and there's no distortion. $1/game, or $75c if you buy $20 worth of tokens.

Which do you pick?

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

You know, I think that is possibly the most apt name for that thing I've heard yet. Thank you. Personally, though, I'll go with Pump.
