I don't like to get into too much detail about incomplete projects.
A fool tells you what he will do; a boaster what he has done. The wise man does it and says nothing.
My best friends tend to exhibit wisdom.

Chwagne Manor, Brownsburg, Indianapolis... Needs a better title. Chawagne Manor is a lame name, and Brownsburg, Indianapolis doesn't make sense.

I was going for a parody of the GXS thread. I mean technically the title doesn't make sense but functionally it works, Brownsburg is a suburb of the Indy metro area. Sort of like how people in New York say that they're from Soho, New York or East Village, New York.

What would you name your arcade?

Not sure. I'll see what name sticks. We all managed to get fat... damn.

Fluffy's Funtime Fuckpit
Chawagne Manor / Chwagne Manor (I think it has a nice ring to it, but meh)
Auschwitz (I'd accept "The Pizza Oven" as well)
FluffyFlora Game Emporium
Nerd Hut
Butt Hut
Bemani Bordello West
Chad's Cholo Checkpoint
Coyote Canyon

Perfect. Anything along the lines of butts, booty, rumps, asses, bottoms, or otherwise fine onion. Booty-Butt Hut has a nice ring to it. Any other suggestions? I will be renaming my home on foursquare accordingly.

So why don't you want to detail on the current projects? I'd like a play-by-play if possible. What's the status on the USA cabinet, Mr. Chadner?

Get butthurt at the Butt Hut.

Chad is literally a pro at getting butthurt so it's only natural that he's the proprietor of the Hut. To his credit though I haven't seen him fume in anger over something in a while.

Well, I guess I could do a state of the machine speech.

I've ordered all the parts for the Stepmania PC (including minimaid) and am waiting for them to be shipped. The machine is currently reassembled and running in my living room. I've also done a sensor check, but the test mode for USA is far lacking compared to Supernova. It doesn't instantly respond to presses like I'd hoped it might. That'll be a project for once Stepmania is installed.

Mild concerns:

1. The monitor controls in the cabinet aren't doing anything. There might be a loose cable somewhere.

2. The left bass speaker is rattles a bit as the bass is turned up. It makes sort of a raspberry sounding thhhbhuhump. The right speaker works fine. I hope this can be repaired somehow, but I guess it isn't the end of the world if it can't.

3. The monitor has some oh-so-slight distortion at the very top. Nothing that would render the game unplayable.

4. There are tons of missing screws. I've had to use as few as two on the joining pieces that normally require 8.

Damn that machine sounds like a piece but it should be salvageable, did you order new sensors or is it "good enuff?"

The speaker should be replaceable, I'm not expert in audio hardware but I imagine this stuff is all standardized, you should just be able to order the woofer itself for cheap since you don't need a box and the wiring shouldn't need to be replaced. Just get the speaker dimensions and you'll be good to go. Using the cabinet as a jukebox is actually a really baller idea and you'll want the sound quality to be good but hey - you can always use the DM cab as a jukebox if you need to.

3. The monitor has some oh-so-slight distortion at the very top. Nothing that would render the game unplayable.
What kind of distortion are we talking about? It might be related to the controls not working. But again, Brandon would be the expert here.
4. There are tons of missing screws. I've had to use as few as two on the joining pieces that normally require 8.
This should be easy to repair, you'll just need to grab some screws from the hardware store.

Chad you haven't hosted a party in a long time, you should try hosting something once the Stepmania cabinet is done. Beats on the juke box, guacamole dip and wings, booze, hookah, cigars, games, and booty dance offs.

I'm pretty sure the monitor in that thing isn't the original. This means that the controls behind the coin door probably aren't hooked up to anything, which would certainly explain why they don't do anything. There's probably another set of controls somewhere else in the cabinet that are actually hooked up.

I know the monitor in the SN2 cabinet got replaced, but I don't remember ever hearing about the USA one. But it wouldn't surprise me in the least.

And I am once again enjoying Merk make wild assumptions about things he knows nothing about. :)
