What's the difference, besides location?

The fact that it won't be in a crap Carmel location anymore for one. Another is that it would be much larger.

Re: Laser Flash - ITG in the works
So I went here yesterday. Pads are in amazing shape (to me, keep in mind that I haven't played on a properly maintained/built DDR/ITG machine in years). I think I got a few pad misses and dropped freeze arrows but that could be me. P2 bar is loose, but that's not a big deal.
I'm guessing there's not a community around this machine or the owner doesn't want modifications done as it's still r21 ITG with no songs added. I'm guessing both are true.

Memories! BigBadOrc, BlackCat, and I used to rollerblade up there for some R21 action. I still have my Laser Flash shot glass :}

Re: Laser Flash - ITG in the works
Pads are still in great condition. Are the pads really that well built or do they actually do maintenance on this machine?
Volume was way too low, could barely hear it over the general arcade noise let alone those loud ass motorcycle games right next to the machine. I asked them to turn it up and it's now a little too loud, but it's perfect when the motorcycle games are being played.
Would be nice to get this thing on oITG or SM5, but that's probably never going to happen.

Re: Laser Flash - ITG in the works
I don't think it gets or ever really got much "hard" play. Laser Flash always seemed to take at least minimal care of their machine - better than some other places in the area.
IIRC, it also never got "hacked" because it was running an ancient version though I guess it's not now. That may have been a reason it never attracted harder play.

If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

It's been on r21 ever since I first went there.

Re: Laser Flash - ITG in the works
It's r23 and not r21 if I recall correctly. (I had several longform charts and they cut off after two minutes.) I work a few blocks from there, but don't go regularly. (If enough people would go I would change this though as I need to do something other than work 80 hours a week for once.)Diamondback1996 wrote:It's been on r21 ever since I first went there.

Did they ever move? Are they still planning to?
Oh, Laser Flash...home of the second most broken tournament I ever attended. At least it was due to ignorance and not corruption. You can't run a bracket of 12. Well, I mean, you can...and you did...but it doesn't work very well.

Was it laser tag or ITG?
Re: Laser Flash - ITG in the works
The tournament? It was actually DDR. Yeah...that's how long ago it was.

Re: Laser Flash - ITG in the works
As far as I'm aware, Laser Flash is the final public location of a playable four-panel dance game in all of central Indiana. (DDR X2 USA doesn't qualify.) Meanwhile, Dave & Buster's doesn't care about us. And sometime in the future, Midtown may force Laser Flash to leave.
I have no idea what the status of the Fishers plan is, but if Dave & Buster's and Round 1 continue to ignore Indianapolis, we may well be left without any four-panel (and five-panel) machines.

Seems like a 4-panel dancing game has always been in that spot then.Ho wrote:The tournament? It was actually DDR. Yeah...that's how long ago it was.
