Did you beat the boss varkid?
Re: What games are you currently playing?
Nope, although I hear that's what drops the really good class mods. I don't know much about it, I just figured it was a beefed up badass normal mob type thing.

Playing Castlevania: Potrait of Ruin. It's a decent game. Problem feels like most of the enemies aren't hard enough and the bosses have a too easy (Just whack)/hard (WTF IS THE PATTERN???) flip flop to them. Got the bad ending once because I didn't explore enough of the castle and missed a spell, and almost hinges on you almost needing to get 100% of each area you explore.

I really like the Metroidvania games, but this one didn't impress me too much. Order of Ecclesia was really good.

I played Order of Ecclesia. It's a good game until the game is broken with all the Dracula items you get and can destroy any boss in your path in seconds.Fluffyumpkins wrote:I really like the Metroidvania games, but this one didn't impress me too much. Order of Ecclesia was really good.

Interesting list for top RPGs of all time as voted by neogaf forum. I agree with a lot of it... I'd move the places around for a lot of it, but in general it's pretty accurate! I'm surprised so many people voted for FF12... I mean I really liked it but I always thought a lot of people poopooed it. I would have Lost Odyssey in there high for sure, as well as some nostalgic ones like Mario RPG and the Breath of Fire series. Earthbound and Xenogears moved up, and Ultima Online on there if that counts. I'd swap FF9 for FF8 personally.
This would probably be my list:
1. Chrono Trigger
2. Final Fantasy VI
3. Ultima Online
4. Final Fantasy VII
5. Lost Odyssey
6. Persona 4
7. Final Fantasy Tactics
8. Earthbound
9. Final Fantasy VIII
10. Xenogears
Here's their top 50 and their votes before the banner pics get updated (I'll highlight the ones I've played before):
1) Chrono Trigger - 165 points
2) Persona 4 - 141
3) Final Fantasy 6 - 137
4) Xenoblade - 111
5) Dark Souls - 101
6) Planescape: Torment - 76
7) Final Fantasy 9 - 75
Final Fantasy 7 - 72
9) Baldur's Gate 2 - 69
10) Final Fantasy Tactics - 68
11) Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal (plus remakes) - 66 points
12) Final Fantasy 12 - 65
13) Mass Effect - 65
14) Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - 64
15) Valkyria Chronicles - 64
16) Final Fantasy 10 - 64
17) Suikoden 2 - 62
18) Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door - 58
19) The Witcher 2 - 56
20) Demon's Souls - 54
21) Vampire: The Masquerade - 53 points
22) Xenogears - 53
23) Fallout 3 - 52
24) Earthbound - 51
25) SMT: Nocturne - 51
26) The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - 51
27) Diablo 2 - 49
28) Fallout: New Vegas - 48
29) The World Ends With You - 48
30) Deus Ex - 45
31) Dragon Age Origins - 44
32) Mother 3 - 43
33) The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind - 43
34) World of Warcraft - 43
35) Dragon Quest 5 - 43
36) Persona 3 - 42
37) Tactics Ogre - 42
38) Nier - 37
39) Valkyrie Profile - 35
40) Alpha Protocol - 35
41) Secret of Mana - 35
42) Dragon Quest 8 - 35
43) Final Fantasy 5 - 33
44) Skies of Arcadia - 33
45) Mass Effect 2 - 33
46) Tales of Vesperia - 32
47) Chrono Cross - 31
48) Vagrant Story - 30
49) Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky - 29
50) Grandia - 29
And speaking of game countdowns, the G4 Top 100 videogames is pretty interesting as well: http://ohnotheydidnt.livejournal.com/69780553.html
I'm surprised a lot of games got featured as high as they did for a mainstream list. I watched the 5 hour countdown TV show and all the random fake celebrity people talking about games they clearly have no idea about was annoying, but still fun to watch.

Bioshock #3? Yeah right. That game took about as much skill as peeing on the toilet seat.
Also no love for Shining Force II? I don't know that it's top 10 or anything, but it was a really great RPG for its time. Same with Mario RPG.

Why are you even looking at G4?
Re: What games are you currently playing?
I watched the TV countdown special and just went to the website to get the list to post. It was probably worse listening to the "celebrities" talk about the games, but like I said, it's still always fun to see what people are saying about games, at least to me. A lot of lesser known games were honored which was cool... it wasn't ALL just mainstream bro games.Pokebis wrote:I like how there are retarded comments on every single page.Riot wrote: And speaking of game countdowns, the G4 Top 100 videogames is pretty interesting as well: http://www.g4tv.com/top-100/

Re: What games are you currently playing?
I think Bioshock is slightly overrated. In my opinion, System Shock 2 was a better game overall, but Bioshock is all shiny, so everyone likes that game more. (That's my dumbed down reasoning)SoDeepPolaris wrote:Bioshock and Uncharted 2 in the top 20?
