Metal Gear

Alright kids, I know you've all at least heard of them. For those of you who have played the Metal Gear/solid series of games, which one do you think is the best, and why? Each of the more modern Metal Gear Solid games has added it's own twist to the game play. What's your take on this?
Personally, it's hard for me to pick a favorite. I like the style of gameplay in Snake Eater. It took a little getting used to, but I found it to be rather enjoyable, and far less annoying than Sons of Liberty, which while it was still a good game, I found myself in Alert mode way too often.
However, in Snake Eater, I went through the majority of the game undetected, and still killed countless people along the way.
Alright, what are your thoughts? Discuss.

i chose solid, cause the other older ones... were they just ungodly hard? or do i just suck at mg? lol

Heh, I played them on an emulator years ago, and I sucked too. Don't feel bad.

About the time I was shooting at an overweight, wine loving mad bomber on rocket roller blades atop a <mild spoiler>mind-reading, intensly armed UFO disguised as an environmental cleanup facility,</spoiler> I knew 2 was probably the best Metal Gear ever. I have 3 over here, but I havne't played it yet.

Even though I haven't played it, and it isn't a choice, I vote Metal Gear solid: Twin Snakes.
Reasoning: Metal Gear Solid's story kicked ass and was fun as hell. Imagine that with a major fortsondo in graphics.

I choose Ac!d because it's not on the list and it's the only one I've played.

i know many people hate it but i like metal gear solid even though i have played the others

i pick metal gear solid even though it is hated by some i have played the others and really enjoyed solid

Solid and Twin Snakes aren't exactly the same. When they made twin snakes, they took a lot of artist liberty with it. I havn't actually played it, but I read an article on it a while back. Some things have been changed, along with the updated graphics and cinematography.

The cinematography is on crack. Honestly, backflipping off of a rifle is absurd enough, but you can expect at least half a dozen impossible moves per cutscene.
...
It was friggin' awesome.

twin snakes is fucking ridiculous and i can't believe i spent $40 to buy an easy game (due to the MGS2 engine) with mostly-the-same dialogue and retarded matrix homages every 1 1/3rd of a second.
metal gear acid is prty good though.
