Hey All!
I know this is a long shot, but I just acquired a Pop'n Music (installed with Fantasia 20) that came directly from Japan, and it came with an e-amusement pass dispenser and reader. I wanted to see if anyone knew how to go about setting up the network settings within the machine to connect it to the e-amusement servers in japan. I also acquired a DrumMania V8 with the same e-amusement pass system reader, and also attempted to network it as well. With the DrumMania machine, it would not fully boot once I turned on the network settings, as it could not find the server. I am going to tinker with it to see if I can figure it out, but if anyone has any thoughts or experience with e-amusement pass, would love to hear from you.
Thanks!!

Re: Pop'n Cab with e-amusement pass
The Konami e-Amuse service requires an account with Konami, and they will provide you with a VPN router appliance that you have to connect all the machines to. A revenue share is involved. The service is NOT available in the USA (with the exception of Round One).
A normality test:

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.

Re: Pop'n Cab with e-amusement pass
Thanks for the info. I didn't even know Round 1 existed, but I am a 45 minutes drive from the Puente Hills location so I'm going to check it out tonight. I know Super Arcade (Walnut, CA) sells e-amusement cards, going to talk to the owner tonight also to see how I can go about at the very least setting up the readers to keep personal scores on both of my machines. I didn't think I could get on the official servers, I heard a rumor of some fake servers that you could set up on (maybe from bemaniso a long time ago). I am going to read though old forum posts there to see if that exists or if I misheard.
Re: Pop'n Cab with e-amusement pass
The games will not track any scores (or do anything whatsoever with the card readers) unless they're on the e-Amuse network. Round 1 is run by a giant buyer of Konami games in Japan and apparently manages to just use their account from the USA, too. That's obviously not practical for most people.
Yes, there are no doubt several "unofficial" compatible networks to choose from. Obviously they aren't going to be supported by pretty much anything official, but they are semi-common to see in use stateside due to the total lack of official support.

Re: Pop'n Cab with e-amusement pass
Well if anyone knows of any unofficial networks I can connect my machines up to, please let me know. Thanks!
