Tru DatWow, I hope Konami manages to figure out that this game will bomb horribly if they don't put some music that Americans like on it. Else they'll be wasting their money.
You will be baked

If it's a straight up copy of Gold, you're bound to find SOMETHING on there you like. Probably quite a bit of it. IIDX has almost as much variety of music as pop'n does while being less "cutesy" about it. The sheer volume of choices means there's something to interest just about everybody. Genres on IIDX range from happy cutesy J-Pop and Eurobeat to Hip-Hop, Classical Remixes, and some fairly American sounding Rock. When you're putting 500+ songs on a game like that, you simply have to tap that many genres. I'm not saying your average American is going to like everything on there, but barring a requirement for American licenses (and you'll recognize some of the licenses anyway), people are going to find songs they like.
Of course, adding stuff without removing things is always welcome, but I don't want them to neuter the game like they did BMUS in the name of making it American friendly. There ARE people in the US who play the game seriously. As small as that market is, it's one they need to win, in addition to the more casual gamer, in order for a US IIDX AC release to succeede. The people who already play it are going to be the ones asking arcade ops to buy it and showing off, encouraging other people to get involved and get better. This is especially true it they market it like they did BMUS (read: hardly at all): marketing then would be mostly word of mouth, and guess what crowd is going to be aware of it...
The only problems I can think of is that some people may not like being sung to in Japanese and if the don't trim the songlist (and they'd better not), players may be overwhelmed. A lot of the songs are in English (or at least Engrish), though, so that helps alleviate the former problem. As to the latter, perhaps adding some new sorts would be a good idea: sort by genre, language, etc. Currently, you're limited to style (which is meaningless here and will probably be removed like it was on SuperNova), difficulty (which should be preserved), and alphabetical (which doesn't help you unless you know the song you're looking for).

A normality test:

If you are no longer connected to the internet, you need to apply more wax to your modem: it'll make it go faster.
If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.
