RIP: VJ Army and Pop'N Navy....

Post by Amp Divorax » Mon May 04, 2009 3:55 am

Today is indeed a very sad day as it was announced on June 6th that these two score tracking sites are shutting down.

That is indeed sad news. At least he seems to be making a sincere effort to let people save their data so we won't get a repeat of NNR.

Sometimes the death of one, is the birth of another better one.

There might be a name for this phenomenon, not sure.

It sounds like the forums had a lot to do with it. I'm not sure why it has to be all or nothing, but then again, I've never been an admin for a service used by so many. Just speculation.

I can relate to Remy's sentiment on some level. While I do miss the golden age of IndyDDR, I can't say that the decline and relative dormancy of the past few years has been all bad.

Give me back that filet-o-fish.

Bring back ratings but don't have them affect a user's status. They should be only for fun and entertainment!

Well, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Recently, it was confirmed that both score trackers will continue on now under the name Solid State Squad.

Siriusly, good news at least, even though I don't use the trackers I most likely would if I had more access to IIDX. I did have a VJArmy account but not too many scores cause I only had the US version & only got to play a few other styles when a friend from Kentucky came to visit once.

Solid State Squad is up and you can easily import all of your scores over!

Yay! Oh, the Pop'N portion of the tracker is going up at a later point. (They're probably redoing some things since Pop'N Navy didn't get overhauled like VJ Army did.)
