IIDX Infinitas
http://p.eagate.573.jp/game/eac2dx/infi ... n/top.html
What is it?
The alleged return of CS IIDX. Instead of going the console route Konami is releasing an official PC iteration of Beet and will presumably update the client instead of releasing entirely separate games like they did in the PS2 days. Current songlist is Sirius and older so yeah it's at the very least a spiritual continuation of the PS2 games.
Can I play it?
Probably not. It will likely be GeoIP locked down to Japan only and you'll need an e-amuse account to play it. If you have a VPN and an e-amuse account then hey, maybe you can play it!
How do I play it?
The default input is keyboard but that can be changed to USB input. Maybe there will be an official PS2->USB adapter released by Konami?
Will this get hacked to shit and released in the US?
The arcade game has already gotten hacked to shit just play that.

I feel this was five years too late at this point. Also, the recent employee abuse revelations have being not wanting to support Konami now.
Also, it may not be a good idea to talk about cracked arcade releases given that Konami sent a ton of cease and desist notices earlier this year concerning one aspect of that.

That would be the first rule, but I don't quite remember the second one.Ho wrote:Don't talk about Konami Fight Club.

Re: IIDX Infinitas
Very nice. So I have a bit of an update on Infinitas. An alpha release has been made freely available from Konami, but downloading it requires their Konami Id which isn't region locked, but you'll need to translate those pages. This test only has a bit over 20 songs, with most coming from Sirius but I am hoping that this leads to other Bemani games getting a PC release. The one issue that this release has is that Windows 10 is not supported so do be warned.MonMotha wrote:Alright, listen up!

Re: IIDX Infinitas
Ok, the game came out and a monthly subscription is required. Also, new songs are provided to players on a monthly basis so long as they are subscribed. (Ex: Being subscribed in January gets you those songs and they can be played forever, but subscribing in February means you don't get those songs.) I can understand that they need to be able to financially justify doing this release, but making it dependent on an online service and doing this is just going to alienate potential customers.
Also, new IIDX controllers have been confirmed....

That controller looks cool as fuck, I wonder when / if we can get them and how they compare to a Dao

The turntable is apparently completely analog and there are no springs in the buttons. (The second one legitimately shocks me.) Overall, biting the bullet and spending the money for an Omron bearing DJ Dao (especially since they have free shipping options at the time of this post) would most likely be the better solution currently both from a cost and a quality standpoint.

Today I learned bemanistyle is back from the dead...and that we've actually been around longer over here.
That controller does look pretty sweet though. Seems a lot more portable than mine.

Definitely does look nice, I do hope that they make improvements to it over time.

Re: IIDX Infinitas
The new controller is now available and it remains unchanged. DOLCE actually played on it on BEnama according to Bemanistyle and said that it wasn't to his liking.
Personally, I stopped playing years ago and this had the chance to bring me back in, but the lack of international access has doomed it for me. (Which is very unfortunate as I have a 55" low latency TV that would play great with this now.)
