Laser Flash ver. 1.0

Post by UnLiMiTeDmAxX » Thu Aug 16, 2007 5:19 pm

Choose a date guys and BigBadOrc can you let the manager at Laser Flash know what we decide. I'm going to let the poll run for a week and make the decision based on what works best for people. There's no reason for all the Indiana crew not to come to this.

-Entry fee will be $10

-qualifying to be done by 1:30, with the tournament starting at 2pm

Rules
-hard/expert. not 2 divisions but players may choose their song to be played on hard or expert
-double elimination
-NCAA bracket based on qualifier, which will be decided day of the tournament
-best 2/3 wins the match. 3rd song, if required, will be random and difficulty will be decided by a coin flip
-no disqualifying mods allowed
-no turn mods allowed
-player may only choose same song once during the tournament

Cash Prizes
-1st 60%
-2nd 25%
-3rd 10%
-4th 5%

IMPORTANT: because of the issue with pad misses, decent's, etc., the only acceptable recalculating will be obvious pad misses that might occur. Since it's an Andamiro ITG2 machine, we all know way off's and decents happen. Rarely, but still happen. Dropped holds will not be recalced.

Let me know what you guys think. Give input if you want. Nothing negative here because Indiana has all these machines, all these players, but has not had one ITG event ever. Let's do it.

I have no preference between those dates so I won't vote yet >_<

And yeah, after we decide the date I'll talk to the manager about it - I'm not sure if he'll go for putting the machine on free play. That's not a big deal tho is it? ;)

For me, it's probably not the date that's gonna be the problem, it's convincing my dad to take me/let me go.
I'll do my best.

I'll try and make it. Maybe compete and make an ass of myself. What time might this shindig look toward ending?

Fun fact: only 3 posts at IndyDDR.com contain the word "boop."

I think that the earlier the better, because I don't want this tournament to overlap the DDR a Thon whenever that ends up being...

How bout we just declare it the 20th?!?!?!

Hey Mike, instead of having a 4th place at 5%, can you possibly ask the manager he'll get 5% if he has a problem with freeplay.

Also, does anyone know if that 3rd mix tourney was freeplay or not???

My recollection is either yes or tokens were provided for each round. But it was LONG time ago and I've (surprisingly) slept a lot since then.

It's a Shaffer machine, so they may be somewhat limited in what they're allowed to do. Shaffer tends to be a bit draconian about those sorts of things. Although, what they don't know won't hurt them, but the manager may want to keep things on the up-and-up with them.

yea i say drop the 4th place and give 5% of all entry fees to them for the machine to be on event mode for a while.

they could either be ecstatic about the idea and go along with... or we might have to resort to a $5 flat tournament fee along with the entry fee or something :/ but probably not.

so shannon.... how's a tuesday looking for this tournament? :p

I can't compete due to a stress fracture, so should I just come and watch? The more the merrier, amirite?

I could also be like the "official cameraman" or something if anyone wants. No date preference because, hey, a Saturday is a Saturday.
