ok i say this because if you have 2 players who arent the greatest and player 1 wins his song and player 2 chooses some 13, knowing both cant pass. it's dumb for player 2 to choose that song just to see if he can last longer than player 1.

if you ever even competed in most ITG tourney's they usually have that rule.

another example using joors. he wins his match against me and then i know he has 60% failing on bloodrush (just looked at your GS), a song that i dont always pass when i play it. so i pick it just to see who can last longer. say i do last longer, with a higher percentage, but also fail, why is that fair to you when i dont even pass it. tournaments are not about who can last longer in a song without failing.

I've competed in one ITG Tourney and it wasn't really any sponsored one or anything nor was there much of a prize. And..they didn't have that rule.

Anyways... I can understand your point for having such a rule, but also that score is from quite awhile ago, you can't always go from GS. :]

I .. honestly don't care if it's in place. But I would like to possibly pick determinator in the tournament which is a song I don't always pass but on average I do. and having the freedom to pick it and not have to lose the round by default is a nice thing. I'm sure there are other people that would like to have the freedom of picking songs they sometimes pass also.

You understand what I'm saying and I can see your point, but you also just said you've only been in 1 ITG tournament. From being around and competing in tournaments for a while, the only people that ever question already existing rules in most tournaments is, no offense, people like you. Ones that have been in few or no tournaments or people like Effect, who I'm assuming, with his last comment, isn't very good. No one else has complained.

Also, Effect you wouldn't be put out the first round. It's double elim. So, if by chance you went to losers bracket on the first round, you'd be matched up against someone around your skill level and could advance.

yes. i've been to quite a few tourneys. from ohio, to michigan, to north carolina, to nebraska this summer. all have the rule. just dont pick something you think you'll fail. duh.

also, i don't know about tournaments in those states, i'm talking about my own personal experience from seeing the rules for ITG tournaments in california.

Will there be a set qualifier for the tourney or is "Choose your best song and we take percentage of that" for seeding?

It's like playing Paranoia Survivor 270 vs. Paranoia Survivor Max 290 in a tourney. Of course PS is easier than PSM. If you put PSM 290 on mirror, you're just playing PS270 with a 20bpm increase (check the stepcharts), which is way easier. Yes, it is a normal tourney rule.

Another example....play Max300, Maxx Unlimited, or LOM on normal. Now play them on mirror, they're so much easier. It's a straight up tournament with normal rules that you'd find at any tournament.

As for the qualifier, it will be something random. I can't just pick a qualifier because, aside from the complaints so far, everyone would just assume me of cheating for knowing what the qualifier is.

To me, it seems that joorz and effect have to question everything so far. Why don't you 2 check any DDR/ITG forum that still has their old tournament info and you both will see that these rules are nothing new and have been around for years. If you still have problems with the rules, simply don't enter. It's a competition and I expect to have fun, but things still have to be fair for everyone. No one is an exception or exempt from any rule. I expect a pretty good turnout for competitors.

ALSO, I've never had any problems with pad crap at Laser Flash, but if pad issues start and there is no one to clean it or the Manager says no for opening it up then we have to rely on just a fantastic count unless people wanna switch to the DDR method (fantastics +2, excellents +1). I mean, if someone gets a pad way off, which do happen in ITG and that's the deciding factor then that will be considered. I just want everything fair and above all, for it to be fun.

Haha, I didn't know that about the PS and PSM thing.. 'course I don't really play ddr.

anyway, I just ask because I like to know the -why- of things. There's no harm in being curious, about some rules, right??

I expect to enjoy this tournament very much even though I don't even expect to place, haha.
