An Event Proposal

Post by Amp Divorax » Sun Mar 02, 2008 8:56 pm

We've done various tournaments over the years, but we've never really done one to find out who is all-around the best Bemani player. With this in mind, I'd like to ask if anybody would be interested in a 'Bemani Ironman' event that would have tournaments in all 3 Primary franchises (IIDX, DDR, Pop'N) to see who reigns supreme.

What's sad is that I actually have a partial ruleset for something like this sitting around somewhere from when DAT6 was still possibly going to have tech events...

Olympic event maybe? We could have teams based on location: ie. Bloomington, Indianapolis, Ft. Wayne.

Then again, everybody would probably be too interested on themselves as compared to region. I'd feel the same way.

Fail for not having Para Para Paradise in the game list.

The main reason why Para Para Paradise is not on the list is cause I'd like to use Bemani Franchises that are active.

As for doing teams, that would make a for a cool event, but there are people such as myself who are in the middle of nowhere that play. (I am smack dab in between Fort Wayne and Indianapolis, but both are over an hour away from me.)

Team Bloomington would destroy, we have Merk and Rico good at IIDX, Kyler would take Pop N, we would probably lose to Team Matt on DDR though, but still we do have a lot good DDR players too.

Ok, due to Ho getting FEVER I really want to see a Pop'N tournament for the area now more than ever before, even though the reality is that I think the number of players are few enough to where we would only use 1/4th of what I call 'The basement of EPIC WIN!'

Well, I think Muncie and Anderson will have to merge to become Team ECI or become a part of Team Indy!

I would totally be down for something like this (if I could come)...I've never played Pop 'N though.
Team FW would dominate DDR, and with Brandon and Chris, and possibly Amp? we could take everything =]
