This tournament was June 28-30th. It was unique in that it had 2 divisions: lower difficulty (9s-14s) and upper difficulty (14s-19s). Cost was $30 per division, 33 entered lower, and 21 entered upper. The top four from each would play round robin with 12s-16s to determine an overall winner, though this was more of just a bonus match. The iamchris4life guy's real name is Chris Chike, but his new nickname is more fitting: during the Lower Division Finals, he was winning with a full fantastic combo until about 96% (about to quad it) and just brain farted picking up several non combos.
Lower Division:
1. Rynker
2. Chris Choke aka iamchris4life
3. The Boxx (Canada)
4. Spencer
Upper Division
1. Zetorux
2. Parrax (new guy)
3. Jdongs
4. Rynker
Overall
1. Chris Chike
2. Rynker
3. TheCosmicPope (moved up from 5th place to get an 8th player since Rynker had placed in both divisions)
4. Spencer

Re: Fort Rapids 7
He sure did, although he didn't enter. He doesn't care much to compete. He never did well in tournaments in the past (Fort Rapids 4), and he doesn't like having one set to get used to a new machine in a new environment, and having to re-warm up over and over. His idea of a tournament (which he's done twice so far) is to give each player 1-2 hours to get the highest scores they can on a predetermined set of [hard] songs. This is known as "Bearpocalypse."
Fort Rapids has almost always been more of a "meet up" for the community and has beens. For instance, Charles (Mudkyp) hosted a throwback "officials only with default mods" side tournament on a 2nd machine and 32 people entered (one less than the lower division). I mean everyone reads at 600-700 scroll rate now, how are you gonna play without 3.25x or C680? A lot of the time more people would watch this rather than the main event!
