As odd as it may sound, the bots have actually gotten me visiting here more often. It's mainly to check for new spam and clean it up, but I suppose any reason is a good reason.

Cat spit is cleaner than human spit. Still gross, but better than gila monster spit!

I suggest making some more moderators (obviously people who wouldn't abuse there powers) so that there will be more of them and when they get on the forums to post in passing when they see a bot they can delete them.

Well, the goal is to prevent the bots from annoying us in the first place. Cleanup is all well and good, but it's a manual process that would be no more fun for new mods than it is for the existing ones. I'm more interested in a solution as opposed to a band-aid.

Aaron from AIJ has it to where u have to approve an account being registered or something of that sort. not a bad idea.

We can do that. But again, that's manual intervention. Someone has to approve the accounts. As I stated before, we'd just like to be able to prevent (most) bot registrations by making it harder for them to register while still welcoming real new users.

Gee...thanks for the vote of confidence.
It's not a terrible idea...I only signed up over the summer because I found my old IndyDDR shirt from DAT ONE. If not, I wouldn't have known.
Still, leave it open for now. Might be good to see some people playing that don't know about the site and invite them.
I found indy ddr after finding ddrfreak after finding wikipedia... (it was all in one night) lol

I must be on the wrong message board. I'm looking for the fairy-princess dancers and their magic sparkle pad.
