How many others have had their system data for DDR on PS2 become corrupted? Anyone know why it does this, I heard a rumor about some games that might corrupt other data but I have a memory card just for DDR and it still got corrupted.

It just recently happened to me last week...or I should say I just FOUND OUT ABOUT IT last week.

This usually happens when you turn the system off during a load or save time during gameplay. Turning the system off when no memory card activity is present will usually do nothing. When there's data going to or from the card, then it's kind of a "danger zone."

There's no way to get it back, but there are ways to make sure it never happens again.

1. Don't remove card during save/load times.
2. Don't turn off system during save/load times.
3. Don't be abusive with the Memory card.

Follow those 3 basic rules, and really nothing bad should happen. It sucks...I now have to go back and re-unlock all of my songs, but it usually just occurs with mistakes.

Hopefully, that helped. ^_^

4. Don't play the Viewtiful Joe 2 demo on a certain PlayStation Underground demo disc.
Just thought I should add that...50% completion of San Andreas GONE.

A few PS2 Sony memory cards had this problem, I believe they were the Japan 1st gen cards. I had one, formatted and still corrupted my data 3 times (and I know it wasn't my data, because they were all Bemani, Police 911/The Keisatsukan, Time Crisis 2/3/CZ, Smackdown HCP, and SoulCalibur 2, all games that I knew didn't have known problems with that (plus most of that data was backed up on other cards too that were not problematic).

I ended up "exchanging" it at GameStop.

Now some poor schmuck has that card.

I had this happen to me twice in the past.

My solution: Turn off auto save.
