DDR X JP information

Post by Amp Divorax » Mon Dec 15, 2008 1:29 am

Ok, a truckload of information has come out about the Japanese release of DDR X which is happening next month.

Apparently the special edition is coming with the DDR X soundtrack, a DDR X design 2 GB thumb drive, and two other items to be announced in the future.

What I can confirm thus far when it comes to the songlist is this. In a move that legitimately surprised me Xmix 1 has been confirmed despite the fact that some of the songs used in it are from Supernova 2 JP/AC. Also, all 2008 X-Edits have been confirmed.

Last but not least the first J-Pop license has been confirmed for this release. Feel free to listen to the song at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N2xYndHst-c

Expect the Christmas Eve release of DDR X in the arcade to reveal almost all of the songlist.

The arcade version of DDR X is out and.... JESUS F*CKING CHRIST 50 SONGS GOT DELETED!

5.1.1. (YES! GOOD RIDDANCE TO THAT CRAP NOTECHART!)
Baby's Tears (This is not surprising since BeForU was involved in this.)
Baby's Tears(スカイガールズ オープニングテーマ)
BAILA! BAILA! (Not surprising since nobody played it.)
BRE∀K DOWN! (BeForU song, nuff said)
Brilliant R・E・D (1998 ripoff, not surprised)
DIVE(more deep & deeper style) (BeForU)
Do It Right (The removal of both DIR mixes are surprising)
Do It Right(Harmonized 2Step Mix)
Drivin' (YES! PAULA TERRY GETS PWNED!)
ever snow (BeForU)
feeling of love (I know this is a old skool Bemani song, but I'm kinda happy this happened)
Firefly (BeForU)
Freedom (BeForU)
GRADUATION ~それぞれの明日~ (BeForU influenced)
Groove (Kinda surprised about these two)
Groove 2001
ヒマワリ (BeForU)
HOLD ON ME (Kinda surprised this got pulled too.)
HONEY♂PUNCH (BeForU)
Hunting for you (THANK GOD!)
I'M FOR REAL (SLAKE GOT PWNED!)
INSERTiON (Machine Gun Kelly Mix) (Stupid Ultramix songs getting rightfully pulled)
Keep On Liftin' (Kinda got mixed feelings about this one)
Knock Out Regrets (Mixed Feelings over this one)
Look To The Sky (WTF!)
Look To The Sky(True Color Mix)
LOVE <3 SHINE (BeForU)
<3LOVE2 シュガ→<3 (BeForU)
LUV TO ME(AMD MIX) (NOOOOOO!!!)
LUV TO ME(disco mix)
魔法の扉(スペース★マコのテーマ)
祭 (J-SUMMER MIX)
祭 JAPAN (WTF! I liked Matsuri Japan!)
祭 JAPAN(FROM NONSTOP MEGAMIX)
MEMORIES
Midnite Blaze
MOBO★MOGA
MONDO STREET
Morning Glory
ON THE JAZZ
PEACE(^^)v (BeForU)
peace-out
R3 (and now there are no more club version songs in DDR!)
Remember You (YES!)
Share My Love
TEARS
Under the Sky (BeForU)
Your Rain(RAGE MIX) (Extreme US crap, original song is better.)
You're Not Here (Extreme US crap, good song but should not be in DDR)

For those not in the know, ALOT of stuff from BeForU got pulled due to the fact that the 3rd incarnation of the group has practically no ties to Konami now.

For those wanting to see the new songs that are available by default they can go to http://www.konami.jp/bemani/ddr/jp/am/d ... p_new.html and look for themselves. I will state that like Supernova 2 this release will have more songs and Extra Stages unlocked over time via eAmuse so stay tuned.

I'll try it in a few weeks when I'm back in-country.

I must also say that I'm pretty surprised that they're still releasing updates for it. From what I've seen it's all but dead in Japan. IDIX/Pop'n/GF/DM are what it's all been about for many years now.

Though on the other hand I'm happy because I still prefer DDR over most other Bemani.

As a fan of the Silent Hill series, while I do like You're Not Here in the context that it is used for Silent Hill 3, I do not feel that it is an appropriate song for DDR. Given that this was a Konami Original and was removed from X AC the only logical conclusion was that it wasn't played enough in Supernova and Supernova 2 to justify it staying in. (One capability of eAmuse is to track what songs are being played so it's not too hard for Konami to gather this data.)
