That's just the announcement that it is in development. The official release announcement will probably happen at the end of this month or early September.

Yes, I noted the distinct lack of a release date, but I figured this way we all had an excuse to start discussing, anticipating and rampantly speculating.
A songlist of songs they are collecting data for is up on the site now. They will be in the console version along with Sweet Lab and L'amour et la liberte.
Oh, V IS BACK!

The LE just got announced and the songlist has been revealed. There are some revivals that I wish would have happened though, but oh well I can't have everything. I hope December 14th rolls by quickly!

Would this be a good intorduction to JP bm for someone who only has BMUS (read: me)? And is this going to cost more than the usual ~$60 because it's new?
If you get the non-limited edition, it'll run you around $68.00 shipped.
If you get the limited edition, obviously, all bets are off.
As to whether it's a good introduction to Japanese beatmania... well... I can't exactly tell you that because I don't have the game yet.
But preliminary responses to the songlist seem to be favorable. If you want to read up on the standing speculation, you might try bemanistyle.com's IIDX forum; they have a Happy Sky CS thread which is accruing more posts faster than I care to read them.
Or you could just do what I did and get all the Japanese mixes at once. YMMV.
