Yeah, I should explain that I was reacting to my apparent change in poster rank. Which, uh... somebody fell asleep at the switch up there, that's all I've got to say.

Anyway, on topic (read: randomly), I tried Guitar Hero 2 for the first time today. (I was in a Best Buy looking for a gift for a friend of mine who's an iPod person.)

This game is great. The notecharts are just so much more interesting than the original's were. The game mechanics are also much more natural for me than the first one's were, though the first one's weren't bad. (Bear in mind that "natural" in my mind means "more like playing a real stringed instrument," so YMMV.)

Altogether, there's enough of an improvement that I didn't let myself get the game - I'm forcing myself to go back and finish up the original on Expert first, because I know I'll probably never touch it again once I have my own copy of GHII. (Read: GHII will supplant GH in the way that the Japanese IIDX styles supplanted BMUS.)

Did I mention that this game is great? Zom-guh.

I saw someone playing it at Best Buy yesterday.... The irony of the situation is, since I actually play guitar, I'll probably suck at the game.

Eh, I started playing on hard, I think that playing guitar definately helped... guitar freaks helped too (considering it's basically the same thing.
