I'm after some classic gaming emulation, so the earlier version of firmware, the better. I'm really only after the system, so any games would be an unnecessary extra cost, but I'll take what I can get.
I have a 1.5 firmware PSP with plenty of homebrew already installed/on my computer...haven't really been playing it much, but I'm not sure if I want to sell it. I'll think about it, though.
Nah, ports are boring. Gitaroo Man is fun and all, but eh, trust me, DJ Max is the best music game available, and it's better than practically all other music games I've played.
I'm confused about the terms "homebrew" versus "emulation." Obviously, I'm after some old-school game emulation, but I don't really get the difference.
"Homebrew" is a wide category that encompasses basically every software made for a system that's not made by big corporations and doesn't cost half your wallet. This category includes many original games that people make specifically for the PSP. Emulation refers only to the emulation of old consoles...the creation of an emulator for the PSP could be considered homebrew, but yeah, it's mainly a different category. Both are possible on the PSP however!
