The Great Music Game Music Debate
Moderator: Moderators
To be honest, (I know I am joining late in the debate, but still I want to state my opinion) I do like the fact that DDR has a LOT more to choose from but still the songs are not my type of music, my routine is the same usually of: Love is Orange, A, AA, PSM, and Quickening, that is about it, the rest of the songs are just not my type of music. ITG2 has far less songs but more seem to be my kind of songs, like Infection and Destiny, there are far more I like to play, and there are like 3 or 4 songs that I just hate. But then if I get bored, custom songs in like no time at all. Pump it Up is my faveorite, I like the sounds of K-pop and Banya and Yahpp, the charts are challenging. I mean I have seen videos of people getting a AAA on Max 300, but I have yet to see a video of someone getting a legit S on Chimera Crazy or Nightmare. It is just the fact that it is so much harder and yet they are fun still on a lower difficulty, and there is still a challenge awaiting for me that I highly doubt I can do, AND the music is fantastic in my opinion. [sarcasm] The best dance game ever is TechnoMotion followed by EZ2Dancer and then followed by Pop'n Stage [/sarcasm]

Stupid Rick Roll'd, I was mega horny too![]()

seems like whenever anyone argues with DBV the whole debate explodes into a series of mistaken assumptions
my opinion of itg music is that the steps generally go with the music better than in ddr. for example, ddr has so deep and twilight zone where the steps are fun to play with the music. itg has a lot of songs like that.
and the idea that you can factually prove someone's opinion wrong is completely retarded - this thread was started about a discussion of opinions amirite?liquidblue aka DBV wrote: I argue on as much fact and logic as I can present. I also do not personally attack people as much as possible, two things you seem to have trouble doing, but then again, you haven't debated yet either; you've just been making posts to attack.

I don't really play ITG at all but I agree with Mike. The most fun songs in DDR are the ones that follow the song (like Burning Heat and So Deep and stuff like that). Sure some of the other songs sound alright, but DDR seems to recycle the triple 8th note patterns all over.BigBadOrc wrote:seems like whenever anyone argues with DBV the whole debate explodes into a series of mistaken assumptions

And the best music from a music game goes to Beatmania and DJMax. End.

I'm going to make a post after reading only the first page. Please bear with me.
I cannot stand DDR. ITG is the best thing to ever happen to the dancing game scene. I will admit that while DDR has a few pretty decent songs (DXY and stoic being a couple of my favs) I get insanely bored playing them because the stepcharts are sooooooo easy. I never really got into the whole AAA a bunch of easy songs thing, I dunno, that's just me.
And honestly the music in ITG isn't really that bad. I actualy prefer it to the DDR soundtrack. Are people honestly trying to say that every song in DDR is solid gold? Maybe these people haven't heard "Crash". Oh and I hate j-pop and j-pop sounding things. Maybe that makes me a little biased.

Look, I said I wasn't going to post in this topic again, but I have a serious question, not wanting to debate here;
How many of you that say ITG > DDR in terms of music have EXTENSIVELY played or heard ALL (or at least the majority) of tracks from DDR 3rd mix + and 4th mix +?
Just curious. Everyone keeps on saying "j-pop" and mentioning only songs from 6th mix and up (with the exception of DXY! & butterfly).
3rd mix + songlist
4th mix + songlist
Pretty much every generic song from these lists made it onto extreme, while all of the odd variety/non-j-pop music didn't make it onto extreme.

I still prefer ITG to DDR music. However, I listen to neither (BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE BREAKDOWNS LAWLZ)

I really love CS:GO's 64 tick servers.
