Guys, I've been thinking about getting contacts, do you think this is a good idea or a bad idea?

Is there a reason you want to do this?

I had contacts for a time, but they were never quite comfortable. But I think that was because of the type of contact they were (for astigmatism). I generally only ever wore them when glasses would get in the way for some reason. If they're comfortable for you, it seems reasonable to wear them if you want to.

That would be my suggestion. If you want to, try it. If they're comfortable and you like them, keep them. If they make you want to gouge your eyes out, go back to glasses.

Having contacts is very important in any professional setting, but that's bad if you want to be a hikikomori NEET!

depends on your sector. Research has shown time and time again glasses make you appear more intelligent, but slightly less attractive (on a quantifiable average)

if you're in the tech sector it's great. people trust me with wirez n floppies n stuff like mad. It's gotta just be the glasses

edit: good read, im a fan of the blog. lots of sociology topics and research boiled down to a few sentences for easy to read articles. http://www.bakadesuyo.com/2011/12/do-gl ... ter-but-l/

@Pokeybiz: Was the person that told you this was very important trying to sell you contacts? I don't dispute the science, but the importance level associated with it is negligible compared to what actually gets you a job/promotion.

I had LASIK over 7 years ago. I have much preferred it to contacts, but sometimes I miss having glasses.

I think the most important factor in all of this is still the fact that Merk looks scary as shit without glasses.

I was making a pun joke about having business contacts, but I guess I worded it strangely.

It's so obvious now. You're too smart for IndyDDR dummies like us.

I had LASEK two years ago. Great decision. Great vision. No regrets. Don't miss glasses.

Merk, you should have had laser surgery as an option.
