Re: Merk vs. IndyDDR: Byss is abyss
Welp, you're leaving your 30s and graduating into your 40s...
How about Graduation?

What did you do last night. I saw you made your step goal, too (GOOD JOB!).
Anyway, to answer your question (see above), I played some racquetball! Last Thursday's session was kinda meh, one of my buddies was feeling under the weather so we didn't have any hugely intense rallies and none of us played particularly well. We played two games of cut-throat and each game ended up lasting 40 minutes because no one could score any God damn points. We'd each go to serve, lose, rotate to the next person, they'd lose, so on and so forth.
Your mall walking does bring up a good point that our Fitbits don't really calculate heart-rate and whatnot. I would not consider mall walking for 30 minutes to be nearly as intense as 30 minutes of DDR even if you can get the same amount of steps in the same amount of time.

Re: Merk vs. IndyDDR: Guess who's turning 50?!
I forgot to post that I played on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning...birfday didar!
I got 7 greats on Graduation for a 493 DP. Not terrible, I guess.

Man, what is with you and these SDG scores all of a sudden?!

Re: Merk vs. IndyDDR: Guess who's turning 50?!
Easy songs and lots of retries.Merk wrote:Man, what is with you and these SDG scores all of a sudden?!
The 7-8 foot range is generally pretty comfortable for me right now, but it usually takes me at least half a dozen tries or so to get down to the SDG. I usually seem to get around 30-40 greats on the first try and then work down from there.
Re: Merk vs. IndyDDR: Guess who's turning 50?!
I guess it's my turn to pick a song.
I didn't get around to giving Merk an award at the party over the weekend. So, instead of presenting Merk with a "Handsy Award" for being the most awkwardly touchy-feely person at the party, I choose "i feel..." as this week's song.
I note that the song is rated 9. I'm probably going to regret this choice, but I couldn't come up with a better song in Extreme to fit the theme.

I seem to recall playing "i feel..." on doubles once and thinking that it was actually a pretty good doubles chart that isn't too difficult despite its rating.
I could be very wrong, though!
And what can I say? I guess I'm a touchy feely guy but I certainly know my boundaries.

Played last night. i feel... is not easy. I played it 3 times. Got a C the first time, a B the second, and an A the last. I called that good enough for a Monday. Lots of greats and NCs; 553 DP.

Well, we're going into March, how about Saint Goes Marching?
I literally know nothing about this song's double chart but I'm going to assume it's pretty hard!

Works for me.
It's only an 8. Hopefully it won't kill us.

Hopefully!
I have racquetball tonight at 8, I'll see if I can get some DDR in tomorrow. I'll have a truncated week since I'm going to the Louisville Arcade Sexpo this weekend

Re: Merk vs. IndyDDR: March March Revolution
Got my steps last night from a pretty good racquetball session! Lots of good rallies and some genuine running on my part.
I'm feeling pretty good this morning so I might see if I can tuck into some Didder later today. I'm usually not in the mood after work / studying but we'll see. I kind of want to try out endless mode on the ol' Stepmania cab and see if I can clear an entire DDR mix's folder. I liked doing that in the waning Putt-Putt days before they got rid of their cabinet.

The syncing is all over the place on Stepmania. I still don't have a good solution for syncing everything about equally since all song packs were made on different hardware.Merk wrote:Got my steps last night from a pretty good racquetball session!
