Heh, I've never been a fan of Angela Gassow, but that's just my personal opinion. I don't like blondes. Petite brunettes all the way, man!

I'm just glad that metal chicks are getting recognition. I love how in that page interview you posted Shaun that Laura draws more inspiration from Trevor (Black Dahlia) than Angela Gassow.

Yeah, I've actually been rocking out the Light this City CD since I got it. The music is good, but by itself, it's not really anything out of the ordinary. However, knowing that Laura is doing the vocals, and doing then with that much energy and intensity, really gives it a whole different feel.
Besides, thrash metal is just fun!
I may write a couple thrash metal-ish songs for my band once we get more organized. It's pretty straight forward to do, and concidering the kind of music we've been writing, it'll actually be a break from our normal, intensely complicated sound.

Thrash/metalcore can be more than power chord, power chord, chugga chugga, breakdown, power chord, but even then that typical formula is alot of fun to listen to (atleast for me).

The faster stuff I do focuses less on power chords, and more on fast melodies. The power chord stuff can be fun to listen too from time to time, but if it's JUST power chords, I find it to be pretty boring.
Typically, the musis myself and the others in the band have been working on is a combination of death metal, and more mellow acoustic and blues inspired music. Opeth is one of my influences there, as far as actual sound goes.

Aaaand, at the moment I'm not listening to anything. I'm going to work. >.<

Lacuna Coil, but yeah. Good song.

Cristina Scabbia is also quite sexy...funny you mentioned them right after we were talking about Laura Nichol and Angela Gassow. :D
