I doubt anybody would be that interested aside from MAYBE Merk but this is a kinda interesting essay about Earthbound and a variety of subjects revolving around it (storytelling, relationship to the player, postmodernism, Hideo Kojima's musings about Metal Gear, history about the creator Itoi, etc.)

It was long but interesting (and a bit dated, probably from 2004-2005ish). Did you know that one of the default names for Ness in Japanese was Shinshin, which means Penis? Now you know!
