17 is the legal age for R movies. I don't know why the library makes it higher.

Yeah, but to buy them, I have to spend money thats going for questionably cooler things (CRACK HOOKERS RAP CD'S).

Maybe they make it higher as a responsibility issue (like if you lose it/break it), as opposed to a "mature content" thing.
Then again, some manga is like that, too. (Battle Royale, for violence, and a shit-ton of others, for sexual content)

Well, I can still check out any DVD's "without a green tag". And I know quite a few people over 18 who aren't very responsible. I guess that seriers is filled with crack whores just itching to corrupt young minds.
