I'll also point out that I have a subscription to Cdigix courtesy of Purdue, but I don't like being forced to install a separate program then having to wade through annoying layers of a flash-based site that forces me to use Internet Explorer only to download some DRM-protected .wma files.

In other words, I deleted the few songs I got off of there and don't really care for that route, even if it is legal.


Next semester it looks like they're going to start allowing access to free and legal on-demand movies, so at that time I may look back into using the service again.

I listen to my music on either my iPod, my compy, or my CD player in my room. I'm a big fan of listening to an entire CD at one time. I just can't stand it when people listen to maybe on or two songs on a CD. This is why I have an undying hate for the radio.

I get my music one of two ways. I either buy it, or get it from the library. I like the downtown one, cause they have a lot of crap there, and even if they don't have the CD I'm looking for, they'll check other places and see if they have it. And it's free! How cool is that?

EDIT: I'd also like to take this space and say that I hate "Greatest Hits" albums like there is no tommrow.

I use my iPod, Rhapsody on my computer-iTunes doesn't work on my computer I had to install it on my parents', CDs (that I buy, sometimes download), or a regular stereo.

Hey, some are good. I have 'And all that could have been,' which is NIN's live CD from 2000. Essentially, it's a greatest hits, since they played 17 of their best songs, all done rather exquisitely, especially for a live show. I actually think some of the songs sounded better live than they did on the original albums....it's convenient for me, so I dont have to wade through my NIN archive to listen to the songs I actually like, since most of my favorites are on this one CD.

Well, there is a difference between live albums and greatest hits. I'm all for live stuff and whatnot. But you gotta remember, I like to listen to whole CD's at a time. I like the way that some bands can make their tracks blend together. Greatest Hits just seem to have no flow, if you know what I mean. It's diffcult to explain.

But, speaking of live, go buy Daft Punks Alive 1997.

I'll add that I use I2hub and pirate music and movies like there's no tomorrow. I'm a thief that hasn't paid for music in years. My computer and crappy altec lansing speakers do the trick.

Usually, I use WinAmp when I'm at home. But I usually end up listening to whatever the hell I'm suppose to be playing at work.

My favorite place though is in my Car. I've got it equiped with an MP3 CD player that works awesome, and I have the company's advanced sound system installed in the car. It sounds awesome, and not awesome like those dumbassed who blow their money on speakers they'll blow in a weak that sound shitty in the first place. It sounds awesome because the music is exreamly clear.

Radio - I haven't made presets in my car, so this is a rarity, unless I have opportunity to switch stations while driving, which takes a while.

CD Player - Whether it's in my room or in my car, my CD players still do wonders for music listening, especially when it an at times just become background "noise".

iPod - Whenever I'm out somewhere, I usually use my little iPod. With over 800 songs on it and a long battery life, I have outgrown my old portable, even though it did play MP3 CDs. I also clip it to my jeans for doing work around the house, like folding laundry. ^_^

That's pretty much it.

radio: i flip back and forth between the classic rock stations, x103, jack fm, and a few others

cds: i have a stack on my desk, i just choose whatever sounds good.

computer: i download through winmx, usually stuff i like, but wouldn't buy the cd

At home- on the radio or iTunes or iPod. I rpip all my CD's to my computer
In my car- CD's/Radio... I typically just use iTunes to burn mixes
Other- iPod or Radio
I have a few CD's. Like I said, I rip it all so I don't use the actual CD's. I have bought a song or two from iTunes with the free song downloads from pepsi corp.
