My Chemical Romance- Life on the Murder Scene.

In fact, I'm about to buy tickets to one of their shows in PA right this second. I am far more excited than I have ever been about any concert.

The idea of this thread was to list albums that are worth the hype they get, obviously since I listen to Indie music I'm gonna list Indie albums. Having said that, it's sad that anyone that has any interest in music hasn't heard of every artist on my list, with the exception of neutral milk hotel. Those are not necessarily my favorite albums, but in the right circles they are holy grails, Daydream Nation is actually in the national archives, no joke. I was interested to see what people, who listen to music that I don't, thought were groundbreaking, deservedly hyped albums. Albums that influenced countless artists and whatnot, like, Dark Side of the Moon, and Pet Sounds.

Oh well, I'm not going to ruin anyone's fun, but that was the IDEA of this thread, i've seen lots of "list your favorite albums" threads.

Both Daydream Nation and Slanted and Enchanted are guitar records, not to be dismissed as simply grunge. And if Daydream Nation was grunge it was very ahead of it's time commercially, having been released in 1988.

I've had heard of all the bands on your list. My list had a quite a few indie bands as well. I'm sure mostly stuff that people haven't heard of.
Btw. What Weezer album are you talking about? Cause they had two albums that were self titled. Blue and Green. Both pretty good, but Blue being much better in my opinion. Sadly I hope they never put out another album, cause their last album made me want to stick knives in my ears. After putting out Pinkerton(my fav. album of theirs) they slowly got worse and worse until they finally released the sonic abomination that is Make Believe.

I think the original idea was OK, but I think that most people don't necessarily KNOW whether albums they like received a lot of hype. However, you'll probably notice my own list does consist mostly of 'classics' in some sense....

Yeah I did think it was odd that you said we should change the rules and then listed mostly classics for your favorites anyway. But that probably just means you have good taste.

I suppose if people don't know if an album is held in high regard they shouldn't put it in this topic. On the other hand, rock music is my main hobby and interest so I can understand where you're coming from.

TBA = The Blue Album, which in my opinion was better than Pinkerton. Pinkerton had a couple weak songs. But then it had their second most amazing song, "Across the Sea." The Blue album had "Say it Ain't So" which is my favorite. That's why I like it better.

Blue Album - 10
Pinkerton - 9.5
Green Album - 4.0
Maladroit - 5.5
Make Believe - 0.0

It's strange that almost every time I get in a topic about music I end up discussing Weezer. That's alright, they're my favorite, the first 2 that is.

Weezer tries too hard anymore. Personally I loved the green album because it had a lot of fun tunes. It's just the fact that it's like 28 minutes long or something that sucks.
