The Spirit That Guides Us

This Beautiful Mess

And for commercial appeal Swichfoot or P.O.D. are always good choices.
YES! Thank you! I really need Christan stuff, and I don't know crap about it.

And thank you too Orange, those are the kinda things I'm looking for.

And Sin: Your suggestions are helpful too. But a lot of those bands are a little too dark for what I'm gonna be playing. But Blue Monday was a great idea!

If you're gonna have Kylie Minogue, have Red Blooded Woman... I can't remember if it's provocitive though.

Relient K is a must if you're going to have Christian music. Sadie Hawkins Dance, Mood Rings, et al.

Daniel Beddingfield's "Gotta Get Through This" would suit the kind of music you're looking for.

Moby's "Go" and Basement Jaxx's "Where's Your Head At?"

You could even throw in the full version of Aurora's "Ordinary World" although Duran Duran did the original.

Hell, you could throw in some Linkin Park if you wanted to, "Faint" or "Forgotten"

The Avalanches. Since i Left You... and frontier Psychiatrist two good songs that not many people know that you should give some exposure to. they're really house-esque. well, frontier is beats and samples, but it'll work.
I got my propaganda, I got revisionism.
I got my violence in high-def ultra-realism.

I have Frontier Psychiatrist.

I'm not going to use it in public. It falls under the "Strange" catagory. Most people arn't going to like listening to it.

Plus, it also has a word I can't use: "Genetials"
Also, it has a blaintant Violence reference. A line that simply says "I'm going to kill you"

I haven't acutally herd "Since I left you", but if it's anything like Frontier Psychiatrist, then it wouldn't be worth it.

Don't get me wrong. I like the song, but it just doesn't fit the Skating Rink atmosphere.

Sorry, can't use it =(

1. Christian Music

Often, I'm going to be playing for Church Groups. But frankly, I don't know shit about Christan rock music. So, I need lots of help with this.

(Example: Zoe Girl)
hey--i'm a christian rock fool. i guess zoe girl would be all right, but that's like playing celine dion. the best choices i can think of are the 12 stones, switchfoot, reliant k, pfr (pray for rain), p.o.d., mercyme, pillar, building 429, sixpence none the richer, sanctus real, maybe casting crowns. pfr has an amazing sound but they haven't released an album since the late nineties, so they might be a bit harder to find.

hope this helps!

On another note...I would highly suggest picking up a christian compelation album...like wow worship or the X. The X 2003 has got the best variety of rock on it that ive ever found in christian rock...from newsboys (british pop-ish) to demon hunter (like Christian mudvayne...) so I check that out....I know you can get it @ living truth in Noblesville...as for other places...i dunno

And the answer is: Yes, I did in fact, jack this idea from OrangeLounger. Booya.

demon hunter doesn't really sound like mudvayne. They're more hardcore and less mainstream rock sounding than mudvayne is.
I really love CS:GO's 64 tick servers.

The two by Orgy I suggested aren't really dark. No more heavy than any of the christian rock, or 80's stuff that's flying around, especially since Orgy has some hardcore inspiration in the 80's. Godsmack is iffy, really depends on the song, and who you're playing to.

I'm just trying to throw a little variety into the mix, in case you get bored or have special circumstances.

I said that Blue Monday was a great idea! I intend to play it. Godsmack probably won't work though.

I donno, keep the suggestions coming!

Daft Punk has some pretty decent mainstream stuff. Songs like "One More Time", "Aerodynamic", "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". Mostly, stuff from their album Discovery. The music on that album tends to have a more club, mainstream feel to it.

The Chemical Brothers has some decent stuff as well. Orange wedge, Block Rockin' Beats, and My Elastic Eye are good as well.

I would also like to suggest Basement Jaxx, but some of their stuff has some "naughty" content (Like "Get me Off).

Beck's CD Odelay has some good jams.

And, my most recently discovered group, Mars Ill has a good old school rap sound. The CD I got is Raw Material.

More if I think of anything.

This isn't acutally a rule of the company. It's just kind of an obvious rule. Most people arn't going to like it if I start playing stuff like "All your base are belong to us!"
Well, that no strange music thing blew me outta the water, that's all I listen to.

You could give Pizzicato 5 a go, but they kinda fall in the strange catagory. Same with Busdriver, though he is west coast hip-hop, so give that sucka a shot. You should anyway, because he's awesome.
Signatures sure are awesome.

Candy Techno is something of a specialty of mine, so I'll get you started with some Vengabosy. First of all, all of the songs on this next list I have readily available so just ask if you want to listen to them:

(Vengaboys Party Album)
01 - We like to Party!
02 - Boom Boom, Boom Boom (perhaps a bit risque? "Boom boom boom, I want you in my room")
03 - Ho Ho Vengaboys
04 - Up and Down (!)
05 - We're going to Ibiza
06 - Parada De Tettas
07 - To Brazil (!)
10 - The Vengabeat
12 - Paradise
14 - All Night Passion
15 - 24 Hours
16 - To the Rhythm

(Vengaboys Platinum Album)
01 - Shalala Lala
02 - 24-7 in my 911
03 - Kiss
04 - Uncle John from Jamaica (!)
06 - 48 Hours (!)
10 - Opus 3 in D#

I would love to come by some time while you're DJing, let me know your work times and dates.

For the Christian music, I've always kinda liked DC Talk.
It's kinda old but it's pretty good from what I remember =P

And for something more pop maybe...I dunno some of those American idol peoples music =P
I'm guessing it's reasonably popular due to the fact that that's all they ever play on the radio =(
