It depends...

If you have a picture of yourself like joorz does, you're fine.

If you have a picture of yourself like Wolfen does, NO!

Generally speaking though, it's more popular to have something other than a picture of yourself. I, of course, don't care, as you can clearly see by my avatar, which is obviously me.

You can put an avatar of whatever you want. I have Luna as my avatar cuz it matches my blackcat user name. And I also love Sailor Moon. I usually like to see avatars like Ho's, the ones that make you laugh a little bit.

Honestly, avatars aren't really all that important, or atleast they shouldn't be. (As you can see from mine, it's completely random!)

I have no avatar. Because I wanted to change it. And it didn't work. And my old one disappeared. And I couldn't find it again :(
