lol @ all these gifs

this season has been alright, same lazy writing as the past 3 but I'm not complaining, better than most anything else on tv. I wish they would give up and retire the "oooh teehee a new nice formulaic archenemy per season" deal and come up with something a bit more dynamic. Especially this one, the whole religious angle is annoying and the two characters aren't interesting whatsoever

I haven't watched the latest episode yet but people on the internet are saying it's actually pretty good and there's a bunch of foreshadowing. I hope I can give it a watch tonight and make a bunch of posts about it!

Anyway! Caught the new episode last night and boy was it a good one - definitely the best episode in a while! Psychopath Dexter showed up for this episode instead of "The Crying Game" Dexter and that's always a good thing. The episode presented Dexter with a lot of questions about his future and it showed how the people we idolize always seem to be something less than what we expected. I won't spoil it in case Chad hasn't seen it yet, but I thought the last couple of scenes of this episode were brilliant.

As far as side-plots go: The scenes with Hanks were kind of dull and we still don't know what they're up to exactly but it appears that we'll get a proper introduction to them next week, Doakes #2 finally makes himself known and we'll see how his character holds up on Sunday, and hot intern re-opens the Ice Truck Killer plot line of all things. Olmos is probably most definitely Ghost Dad #2 at this point or some sort of contorted visualization of God as Hanks sees it.

Let me know if you've seen it Chad so I know if I should go into more detail or not and share some of my thoughts.

Yeah, I thought it was weird they re-introduced the ice truck killer stuff out of nowhere. What do you think that girl is up to? Is she gunna eventually find something out about dexter?

I'm not sure exactly! She's definitely going to find out about Dexter being ITK's brother but I'm not sure if this matters because it might common knowledge at this point, Deb knows, but I don't know if everyone else does. Anyway, since she has a thing for forensics and murderers she'll probably want Dexter to be up in them guts and maybe stalk him. I can't tell if anything huge is going to come of all this, but I wouldn't put it past the writers to put in a scenario where Hot Intern witnesses Dexter in the act and shit starts to unravel. I want the writers to head towards some sort of conclusion for the show but as Showtime's biggest cash cow I doubt they're going to pull a Lost and let them end it.

I wonder if Dexter is going to reanalyze the blood samples from his little trophy box in the lab to put everything back in order. Also, he's a retard for not coming up with some cryptic system for tracking who is who, or at least their order.

What if the intern were Dexter's brother's half-sister in-law and wants to get RAVANGE.

Well he did have every slide numbered in the box itself. I can see him being completely obsessed with trying to put the slides back in order that he takes some lab equipment home with him but more than likely the next episode won't even reference Dexter dropping his trophy box. Dexter looked so creepily heart-broken when all the slides fell out of the box - Hall is by far the best actor on this show.

The slide that was broke in half looked familiar since it had a really weird pattern that I remember seeing in another episode. Most slides are just a usual red splotch but the broken one had weird little air bubbles in it or something. I checked to see if it was Trinity's slide but alas he just had the standard splotch.

Plot-wise that wouldn't make sense. I don't think he took a blood sample from ITK ("No, you're no trophy") and even if he did the box that he would have put it in was stolen and destroyed by Doakes.

I need to go back and check, I don't think it was from any of the big bads. It might have been Little Chino's or Zoe Kruger's.

aww shit, you totally called it. her ending up being related to a past victim would make total sense

Yeah, like I said before, they never ever touch on the effects Dexter's actions have on the family and friends of his victims. It would be a neat twist if Hot Intern was fascinated with murderers because she had someone close to her killed by someone and that person ended up being Dexter.

If I were Deb, I would've told that one jerk cop to piss right off. The whole promotion bit just seems silly. Miami Metro is run by children and Mexicans with stupid hats.

Ha, yeah I am utterly stupefied by Miami Metro's incompetence on this show but whatevs the writers have done a couple tongue-in-cheek jokes about it. Batista's "Am I the only person who cares about this case?" line when they found Robocop's corpse at the end of season 5 was pretty loller.
