Maths time!
http://go.indiegogo.com/pricing-fees
The campaign is fixed funding, so it will be 4% + ~4% fees. We'll call it 8%, but it could be 7% or 9% depending on card fees. They've currently raised $15,000, so they'd need to kick in $15,000 of their own cash.
15000 * .08 = $1200
So basically they'd lose $1,200 to gain $13,800. Net gain of $12,600.

I guess that would make it worthwhile for them. Is that like "investing in yourself"?

Oh yeah, it's definitely advantageous to shill even if there are fees hence why I think they're going to shill if they think they won't get enough donations in time. Hell if I didn't have enough money at the time to shill I'd take out a personal bank loan, pay it off immediately using my returns from the donations, and still probably see a profit.

17 days with over $10k to go. I'm still banking on a shill

Do we even know what this money is for? Are they NOT going to put this arcade in Fountain Square if they don't get enough donations?

Last I heard Fountain Square was the target. I don't know what happens if they don't raise the money.

Two weeks.
$9,500.

I made my $150 donation. We'll see what happens. It's practically certain they'll donate whatever remainder they need out of pocket.

$7,500 left! A shill is almost a certainty at this point, not doing so would be absolutely retarded.

~$2,700 left with less than a week to go, it looks like they're going to do it!

Looks like it's funded. Now let's see if they squander the money!

Do we want to take bets on whether or not they will actually open the bar they promised or if they're going to take the money and run?

I bet they open the bar. They made a comment a few hours ago:

"For people asking about a location. We're still looking, but we're seeing places frequently. Unfortunately, the holidays have slowed us way down. Hopefully we'll have an update soon!"

They seem like they care enough to make it happen. Still a lot of work to do though. They need to buy/lease the location, perform any renovations, furnish the place, obtain any needed licences, and probably a myriad of other odd jobs. It could be months out depending on how much work needs to be done, and $30,000 will vanish more quickly than a new IndyDDR member.

If this place actually does open I will admit that I was wrong that this wouldn't work and I'll give them my business. Currently though I don't have much confidence in it tbh.

Over / under on when this place will actually open?

I will bet $1 that this place will NOT be open by exactly one year from today, 6/12/2016
