Maaaaaan. That's a tough one. I'd say see if someone can hook you up with this:ImuyumI wrote:So, I shouldn't buy the game now?

Having sunk 85 hours into it, my advice would be to pass. Hard to say though. Do you like eBay style buying and selling to mix and match the perfect wardrobe to make your stats awesome? Do you like running the same levels to farm for said wardrobe? That's 95% of what this game is. If that appeals to you then you won't be disappointed.

Re: ummmmm Diablo III anyone???
If I may play devil's advocate, I can't help but feel that many people did burn themselves out a bit by playing the game more than an average of two hours a day. What also doesn't help is that having four different difficulty modes to play through can make the game feel a bit tedious since level 60 will be reached upon starting hell mode. It was mentioned that there would be various expansions for this game, but I honestly think that the only expansions they could do would be to resolve the story-lines of your followers and a couple of other characters.

Well, I had been skeptical about buying the game. Diablo 2 didn't pull me in as much as I had hoped, so I was just waiting to hear how D3 would turn out. However, I really don't want to spend all the time grinding, so I'll pass. Anyway, just got Humble Indie Bundle V and I'll be playing dem games for a while.

Re: ummmmm Diablo III anyone???
For what it's worth, 1 to 60 was a good time and I imagine PvP will be great when it actually gets tacked on and polished. I don't know how much fun the level grind would be a second time around with a new character but the first time is neat.
The problem with the game is the end game which I've blabbed on and on about in my previous posts!

That's true. 1-60 was a pretty good time. I'd say the first 40 hours were worth it. Too bad I can't just give you my copy of the game.

Re: ummmmm Diablo III anyone???
gg no reason to play anymore. Over/under on how long goblins and chests are taken completely out of the game?- Act 1 Royal Crypt jars no longer drop gold
- Act 2 Ancient path goblin removed
- Act 2 Black Soulstone quests exp reward reduced in all difficulties to about 20% of their original value
- Act 2 Guardian tower spiders no longer drop gold
- Act 3 Resplendent chest in under-bridge and keep depths removed
- Act 3 Tyreal only does around 1.4k per swing now
- Act 3 Meteor that can kill the first pack of mobs on first quest no longer hits them
"Whats that? People are making money? To use the Auction House? Because that's basically required? Because we are fucking retarded? Not on my watch."

Re: ummmmm Diablo III anyone???
The goblin didn't get nerfed. At least it's been right there 3 of the last 4 games I started. I did try act 3 and saw Tyrael's damage was nerfed, but didn't search for resplendent chest a second time after the first try because I went to go try the gobby. But yeah, gobby is there chillin like usual.

Isn't today the day? Are people selling mad cash? Will anyone actually spend more than $15 on a single item?
I know there are some really rich kids whose parents will buy them whatever they want, so I assume the topest top tier loot will sell. I wonder how many people will have actually ended up making a decent wage in this game, here in the US or otherwise. Assuming Riot has played for 90 hours, he'd have to sell $650 worth of gear to cover the expense of the game and make an income close to minimum wage (after taxes.) I have no idea what to expect from the economy, but this might be possible.
Edit: People are saying items are selling for $50+ and that gold is 1 mil per $11. That seems way too expensive. I'll just throw out a judgment here and say that if you spend any money on this thing, you shouldn't be playing videogames, especially in a game that doesn't have PVP.

Re: ummmmm Diablo III anyone???
Well of course people are gonna gouge items for $50-$200. Things will come down pretty soon I assume, though I am confident people will still buy top tier items for upwards of ~$50. I feel like gold will inflate and I should buy out good items with my gold and sell on RMAH. I have like 9mil I farmed over the last three days or so (dat gobby been good to me), and I imagine I could make a little bit of cash right now if people have itchy auction fingers.

This is GameFAQs, but there are a lot of threads about people having sold less-than-awesome items for $10-20. Sell it all and quit the game. This is your one and only chance to win at Diablo III.Riot wrote:Well of course people are gonna gouge items for $50-$200. One of my old AC friends powerleveled a character to a high level (65) quickly and sold that mess for $1,400. There's not anymore fun to be had in the game, so you might as well flip whatever money you can.
Re: ummmmm Diablo III anyone???
I put up all my stuff at like 50-100 each, we'll see if anybody bites. I do have really good gear but I think prices are going to come down pretty quick. We'll see!
