Fuck if I know how all of this works but if the bank says, "Hey you're not going to have this house unless you have an extra $1,000 in the bank" then, well, it's only right to hit up your local heeb for some dollars.
Hearing about scenarios like this have me not looking forward to when it comes time for me to deal with a bank.

If you guys just save up a bunch of money before going into the mortgage process then you won't have a problem assuming you have good credit and all that shit. I'm trying to max out my down payment so I'm cutting things a little close (hence why the bank is being stingy with money) but if I were to pay a 8% or 9% down payment then there wouldn't be an issue.

Normally this is true. In my case though, I've seen some chicanery involving the VA Loan which they may try to do to me so I gotta be more careful.

What I find odd is that they accepted a random large-ish last-second deposit into your account for the purposes of meeting underwriting guidelines with no paper trail. Normally, the underwriting department will want to see a paper trail for any significant (more than a few hundred dollars, though it varies depending on your account history and size of the loan and down payment being sought). In the case of money from somebody else, they will usually need documentation that it's a "gift" and not a "loan" since any borrowed funds can't be considered part of a down payment on a mortgage (you're financing one debt instrument with another, then, and that's over-leveraging).
FWIW, if you can swing it, putting 20% down is worth it to avoid having to pay for PMI. Be aware that if you get a VA or FHA loan with PMI, you cannot EVER get rid of that PMI anymore (other than by refinancing to an entirely new loan at then-prevailing terms). Conventional loans with PMI can have the PMI canceled once you can show the LTV is less than 80%.

I'm all about putting down 20% but interest rates are so God damn low that I think it's worth putting down 10% on a house you really like if you can afford it.
Interest rates are going to sharply increase at the end of this year FYI so get your shit in now if you're close to 20% and you've found a place that meets your needs. It's a lot harder to find a place you like than it is to save up money IMO

That's $408/yr. that was buying you absolutely nothing! Now you can go out and have 4 really nice dinners with Meg.

Merk,
How's it coming on your makeup work?
If you're still working on 3rd VK2 songs, I propose we add Strictly Business while you've still got 3rd VK2 installed. It's not exactly exclusive to VK2 since it's actually a 1st Mix song that got dropped in 3rd Mix...AFAIK, never to return again. But it's still in 3rd Mix VK1/VK2 for whatever reason.
I think it does not have a Maniac Double though since they didn't add Maniac charts to doubles mode until 3rd Mix. So it may be a bit easy. But I figure it will be something new to play this week if we both still have 3rd VK2 installed anyway.

Makeup work is coming along, I do have plans to play tonight for a little bit and I'll try to get some of the stragglers taken care of although it's mostly harder shit that's left IMO.
Is Strictly Business on DDR X3 in 2nd mix mode?

Played tonight. I went back and replayed the two VK2 songs that I didn't FC last time.
I was able to get the combo on both Gyoung Go and Starian.
On Gyoung Go, I got down to 12 greats for a 454 DP.
On Starian, I got down to 27 greats for a 595 DP.
Then I played Strictly Business. I was able to get 15 greats for a 355 DP. There is indeed no Maniac chart, so I played on Trick/Standard/Difficult...whatever the hell they call the second difficulty on this mix. I didn't really pay attention.

I did play yesterday! DDR is a hard game, God damn.
Kiss Kiss Kiss - 28 Greats, 9 (!) non-combos
Hysteria 2001 - 24 Greats, 1 miss
i feel... - 30 greats, 2 goods
Saint Goes Marching - 27 greats, 6 non-combos
Normally I'd play these songs a bunch of times to improve those scores but since I'm so far behind and I'm so fat that I probably wouldn't improve these scores too much that I figured I'd just say fuck it and get these scores in.

Welp the songs on Extreme that I have remaining are:
LOVE♥SHINE
Gentle Stress (AMD Sensual/Sexual mix)
Synchronized Love
Living in America
Freckles
Daikenkai ~Heavy~
And like all of these are pretty hard!

Oi! You're right. That list is pretty hard.
I think Freckles isn't so bad although not as easy or even all that similar to its singles counterpart. I hope you like gallops.
And Synchronized Love is challenging, but damn is it a lot of fun!
The rest...ugh. I can remember getting pwnd pretty hard. I even remember apologizing for picking Gentle Stress.
