Before you can really have a chance at The Beginning, you should work on your 16th ability. Practice songs like My Favourite Game and Spin Chicken (I would also say Charlene, but since you're determined to pass The Beginning first...) until you can really do well (and not get too tired out) on the 16th streams. The hard thing on The Beginning is the mondo crossovers, otherwise the 16ths wouldn't be that hard considering the song is only ~135 BPM. Also practice other songs with fast crossovers.

EVeryone keeps telling me that I should pass a different 11 footer first, but I'm determined to pass The Beginning...cuz maybe if I do, the other 11s will be easy.

Got good scores on other songs too! Like a 97 on Oasis Hard, and a 98 on Solina Hard....97 on Little Kitty Mine Hard, I believe. Maybe a 97 on Music Pleeze too? I'm movin on up! (to a deluxe apartment, in the skyyyyy)
If the only reason you didn't pass The Beginning is because of stamina, then I'd say YES. Go for it. If it's not. Clearly you need to play something else like Infection, Charlene or maybe like Xuxa. Those crossovers I would imagine aren't going to be the easiest for you. Good job, good luck and I hope you pass it soon.

lol...Infection has way too many mines. I'll pass that one after other 11s...and once I build up some speed, to where I'm confident that I won't hit the entire minefield. I can pass Charlene with my fingers, but that has a ridiculous amount of mines too. And yeah, the only reason I can't pass The Beginning yet it stamina. That and the fact that I have a hard time doing crossovers now...because I have this fear that I'll step wrong on the next note, and yeah. So, I kinda have to work my way into the crossovers, which won't be too bad.

Maybe, in a way, I feel like I won't accomplish something all that great unless I pass a difficult 11 first. When I want to pass a song, I usually have my heart set on it, and won't give up until I pass it. Not to say that I won't try other 11s, and if I happen to pass them, then that's awesome...but I won't give up on my goal to pass The Beginning.

Aside from that...I've been trying to pass Max 300 for the first time. Haven't done it yet...I usually fail right after the hold....and it's not because I miss the first note and then I get off sync....it's just cuz by that point, I'm like so tired. But I can get through that first half easily. I actually think that I full comboed it up until after the freeze, and then I fail. Soooo, I bet in no time I'll be able to pass it. And then I will have something else to brag about :D

Going to go play the Beginning on 60% speed now. Gotta practice my crossovers!

I love My Favourite Game. Favorite 10 footer at the moment. Well...actually it's my second favorite. My first favorite is Fleadh Uncut :D

I havent read thru this thread but I actually agree with Dan on this one. The Beginning smashes Max 300, not to mention it's 30 sec longer. I hope you're good at fast cross overs. Either way, good luck :P

.....anything's possible?! *shrug*

I've been playing Max 300 a lot. I'm getting closer to beating it!

And by god, I WILL pass the Beginning eventually! Up til this point, any song that I set a goal out to beat, I've always beaten it in the end. It may have taken me a while, but I did it. Even if it takes me a really long time to pass the Beginning, I'll do anything to pass it!

I have to disagree with this. Sometimes, something clicks in a persons brain and they are able to do harder songs better than something easier. For me, while I still can't pass it (yet), I do one hell of a lot better on Max 300 doubles than I do on singles and passed HVAM doubles on a sight read but have yet to even get close to passing it on singles. Neither of those songs are a joke, by any means. On ITG.... well, I just suck hardcore at that game, so I won't go there.

I'd like to think I'm at least OK, but I can't seem to AA Cartoon Heroes for the life of me. I always lose my cool and start getting a bunch of greats.

I like Flakk's way of looking at it...there actually have been times when I passed harder songs, but had trouble with easier songs. Like, when I starting doing 9 footers....Oh man, I was so scared to try So Deep for the first time...but actually it ended up being really easy because I knew the rhythm pretty well, it was all a matter of knowing the step patterns, and putting it on the right speed.

Well, anyways, I passed So Deep before Twilight Zone....even to this day I still have troubles with Twilight Zone....the weird gallops at the beginning get me everytime and I have no idea why they do. I can do plenty of other songs with those kinds of gallops....

Needless to say, when I posted on the forums about it forever ago...people were surprised that I could pass So Deep, but that Twilight Zone was such a struggle.

Not to say that Max 300 and The Beginning can really compare to 9 footers or anything....but I can see Flakk's point.

As you know I'm the complete opposite there. Twilight Zone is pretty easy for me...So Deep has never been. If we could combine ourselves somehow...

...we'd look pretty strange! :P

I mean, we'd have all this stuff licked in no time! :)

Well, either way, good luck with it; I'm sure if you practice it enough, you'll be able to do it...but then Max 300 should come easily.

I'm pretty close to passing Max 300. Give me like 10 more times and I'll probably beat it.

Almost every doubles chart is easier than the singles chart... not only those but also so deep, burning heat, end of the century... ect.
