Thank you, sir. It means a lot coming from someone with your level of mastery.

BTW, this goes out to the 14-key players out there...AMP, PIMP, you probably have an opinion on this:

How the heck are you supposed to scratch and hit the furthest white key or chords including that key if your other hand is being require to hit keys on the other side?

I might be able to just barely pinky scratch and hit the furthest white key with my thumb, but that hand position pretty much eliminates most many chord formations. Plus, I'd guess that my hand size is average or maybe even large by Japanese standards, and isn't the arcade turntable actually further away than on the KOCs? It seems that some of the 14-key (even L14) charts are asking me to do things that just don't seem physically possible.

I got a bloody nose and made the keys sticky. I was hoping for a more practical alternative. :)

It is very true that the turntable is farther away on the arcade and ASCs than on KOCs which does make it a huge pain in the ass for Chords with a turntable. In my case when I do have that issue rise up I'll either try to use mirror or random for the song. If that doesn't work then I'll usually not bother with the turntable at all on parts that are that messed up as I figure getting only 1 bad isn't as bad as the possibility of screwing up a chord and getting 2-3 bads.

Dear Ho,

For 10th style only:

Song Battle Comparison
dj TAQA Victories: 85
dj HO! Victories: 8
dj TAQA WINS!

10th is the best style ever! You should be beating me on at least 15.

Oh, and AA Hype the Core L7.

I guess you could call this a challenge?

I need to make up all the ground I've lost with dance1005...

Song Battle Comparison
dj HO! Victories: 20
dj DANC1 Victories: 26
dj DANC1 WINS!

By Difficulty Breakdown
Light 7 - DANC1 wins, 22 to 18
7-Key - DANC1 wins, 4 to 2
Another - Draw, 0 wins each..

Ex Score Comparison
dj HO! Total: 25749
dj DANC1 Total: 27090
dj DANC1 WINS!
Difference = 1341

I'm pretty sure I was winning all of those just last week. And now...I'm not.

After that, I'll be delighted to drop in 10th Style to try and raise some scores. And TaQa...enable your profile for 14-key and start logging scores! That's where most of my attention has been focused lately.

Augh! Brian, I went away for... uh, a couple of months... and you left me in the dust!

Seriously, congratulations - you have made some incredible strides in IIDX. I don't think there's any way I can catch up with you on 7key, and I genuinely have no idea how I compare on 14key...

Oh, wait. This means I have to start using VJArmy again, doesn't it?

Crud.

I think a lot of my BMUS scores are from those couple months ago when I was working my way through your scores. Then you disappeared... So I played to fill in complete L7 data for all styles, whored a ton of L14, and then moved onto other rivals.

Welcome back! I've got lots of L14 scores logged now, so have at it. I look forward to some more challenges.

BTW, did you ever get around to playing KBM?

Dan complained that I hadn't updated this in awhile. So here you go...an update:

I've mostly been playing L14 lately in an attempt to flesh out data for the various games. In general, I seem to be able to pass most things 5-star and below, quite a few 6-stars now, and there are even a couple 7-star songs that seem within reach if I were to keep practicing. I've been able to play and pass some full 14-key charts as well!

Since I'm mostly just playing songs to fill in data, there aren't a lot of notable events beyond the fact that I am developing a reasonable proficiency at doubles play.

One cool thing did happen last night though while I was visiting MonMotha and playing on his infamous MKIIDX machine. I scored my first doubles AAA on Nothing Ain't Stoppin' Us 14-key. It's only a 2-star, but I was within 2 points of the AAA on my first play of it, so I decided to take a second run and got it. I think it's a little funny that I've played dozens and dozens of L14 songs, including that one, and my first AAA was in full 14-key mode. Well, whatever...I'll take it!

By Difficulty Breakdown
Light 14 - HO! wins, 339 to 0
14-Key - HO! wins, 16 to 0

That's not entirely true, of course, since you don't actually have any Doubles scores logged. But there's 355 out there waiting for you to challenge!

Go play Doubles! ;)

I HATE L.E.D.!

Well, not really...but an L.E.D. song thwarted me in my efforts to retake the 15-20 L14 songs that MonMotha had higher scores on. Many of them were old scores of mine from 4-6 weeks ago, but there were a few recent direct challenges including Rottel the Mercury, Murmur Twins, and the infamous V.
Light 14 - HO! wins, 87 to 1
I was able to take back all but one score: Ixion. Interestingly, MonMotha's score is about 6 weeks old. I raised my score, but I couldn't beat his. I know why, too. It has a part in it that requires a technique that he's much better at than I am. That is, keeping a beat with one hand while playing a melody with the other. His two-hand 7-key technique is better than mine, and that's a very common use of it.

I'll keep working on it, but something tells me he'll snag back a few of those scores before I do.

Double post!

Mission accomplished...
Light 14 - HO! wins, 88 to 0
Ixion fell this morning. I'll bask in this temporary glory as I suspect that MonMotha will throw down new challenges soon now that he's on break. ;)

Get busy:

Light 14 - HO! wins, 94 to 26

All those were on older styles (6-8th). There should be plenty more to come.
A normality test:

If you find this funny, you're a nerd.
If neither of the above apply, you are normal. Congratulations.
