I played today and got 5 greats on the song - one for each victim of the Sugerland massacre.
But apparently a sixth person died so now I have to try and get six greats on the song to honor the victims.

I managed a rare (for me) SDG of 9 on this song tonight. This was better than the score of 15 I had in DD:Recall...from 7/8/2006.
On a side note, I also happened to notice that my money score was actually higher on the previous play when I got 11 greats.

Was this on Supernova? Because that shouldn't happen as long as you got all the freezes and shit.

It would be possible on either Extreme or SN2, but not SN1. Extreme has the weird "later steps in the song are worth way more than earlier steps" thing, so getting 15 greats on the first 15 steps vs. 9 greats on the last 9 steps could easily result on a higher score. On SN2, there's marvelous to contend with, so that could easily affect things (9 greats, rest perfect but not a single marvelous will probably be a lot lower than 15 greats rest marvelous).

Merk how much do you weigh now? Hurry up so I can challenge you to a 10 footer. Then perhaps we will become pals and I will turn you to the dark side (itg).

I'm jealous!
Man they really fucked up Oni mode in Supernova. Life gauge refills one pip every other level, they went back to percentage scoring instead of straight number, there are wayyyy too many courses that are full of standard charts instead of expert charts, and a bunch of courses from Max2/Extreme had to be taken out since they had licensed songs. I could be wrong on this, but I'm not sure the money score means anything either.
It looks like Oni mode money score acts like the old Extreme Nonstop money score where the first song is worth X% and then the next song it worth X%+X% and then the next song is worth X%+X%+X%...
So for example, in a four song course the first song is worth 10% of total possible points, the next 20%, the next 30%, and the final song is worth 40%.
Of course I'm probably wrong on this, but hey it's something to post about.

Shit, my scale is broke but I'm hovering around 223ish the last time I checked. I wouldn't mind doing 10s and shit once I get more in shape but you'll obviously have a huge upper hand. I almost always do a 10 on Extra Stage and I can still combo Paranoia Survivor and clear Max 300.
I don't hate ITG that much and I used to play it a lot before ridiculous custom songs became the thing to play - I really liked Energizer's hard chart. I kinda got turned off when the Fort Wayne crowd started getting really weird and hardcore serious about ITG. Fucking Flea or whoever busted the speakers on the cabinet because he got a great or something, AllusiveGold told Riot he was going to kill him because Riot trolled him on the internet, and my hetero lifemate Fluffyumpkins basically said Antonio wouldn't shut the fuck up about ITG when he ran in to him in person.
RON! is a pretty cool guy though and I sometimes wonder whatever happened to Shannon aka UnlimitedMaxx.

Of what? Me playing Extreme? It was really more out of laziness than anything. Since my DDR machine was systemless prior to that play session, the 573 was just the easiest thing to toss in there and make work. And since the week's song was on Extreme, that's what I went ahead and did. But at least I now have the parts in my possession to make hooking up my SuperNOVA hardware significantly less terrible. I'll work on that if we decide to do more SN songs for this little activity.
Anyway, I don't recall the exact scores, but I saw on the previous play that I had scored 6.9 million-something. When the step counts came up, I had 11 greats. On the next play (which I was intending to be my last for the night), my score was 6.8 million-something. So I initially thought my great count was going to be higher and was a bit surprised when it came up as 9. Nonetheless, I still like money score.

Now you're just trolling at this point.
So, I'm not sure how I'm going to update the OP this week. I think I'll just replace Fluffy with Ho for now since our scores were surprisingly in the same ball park. What do we want to play this week? Chad had mentioned over the phone to me that he'd like to do Love This Feelin' but I will let him confirm that.
Besides, the only way I'll let him pick is if he fucking plays this week and actually makes an honest effort to do well.

Not really. I'm just restating my opinion because I actually do like it.

You basically said, "Hey, this thing does something in such a way that is awful and makes no sense - here is an example! But in the end I like this thing anyway."
So then tell us, why do you like money score? I understand people can have wildly different opinions but generally people have some sort of reason other than "I just do lololol" as to why they think the way they do about something.
What song are we playing this week?

No. I really didn't. I just said it did something I wasn't expecting it to do. I never said it was awful or that it made no sense. I only mentioned it because it was something I would have expected to see in Pump and not in DDR. Please stop putting words into my mouth. I really don't need another excuse to think poorly of you.
Anyway, one reason I like money score is that it can eliminate a lot of ties. I find most tech/speed tournaments to be too long and boring to begin with. Anything that can eliminate the need for some tie breakers is a good thing in my book.
I also like a score that is a composite of several factors rather than just a single measure. To speak specifically of dance games, unIike you, I actually do think combo is important and should be factored into the result.
Also, I just do lololol. (now I'm trolling)

I don't have any strong feelings on song selection this week. A song from Extreme would be easier for me to do than one from SuperNOVA, but I'm not necessarily against doing SuperNOVA either. Love This Feelin' is fine, I guess. I can't say I'm especially excited about it musically though. I'm not likely to play it more than 2-3 times to improve my score on account of not really wanting to hear it again.

If Chad doesn't come on and promise to play Love This Feelin' before 4pm today then I'll let you pick the song this week, Mr. Ho.
I wouldn't mind doing something a little more challenging this week since the last two songs have been pretty easy. I'm still a fatty though so no stamina-busters preese.
