Gatorade has a huge amount of sugar in it. If I remember right, a large amount of glucose produces energy.

I don't think that it's significant, "I can play my whole game on this Gatorade", but I know that it does give some energy.

Nope, the lactic acid produced is extremely dilute. Plus it would destroy your muscle before it'd poison you. The LD50 on muscle (with bloodflow) for a rat (which is typically extremely close to human) is 4500 mg/kg. If you weigh 180ish pounds that's about 82 kg you would need to have 369000 mg (369 g) to have a 50% chance of killing you due to poisoning. Unfortunately I can't get enough information of the production of lactic acid from carbohydrates, but I can guarantee it would be physically impossible to produce a dangerous amount without having your legs cramp up first. I was at lunch today, and a kid at the table next to ours had a plate piled, I kid you not, six inches high in bacon. And I wouldn't be posting this if I didn't watch him eat the whole damn thing. XD

Frankly, I was afraid. My arteries clogged a little for him.
