Bingo!
If you watch me and Katy some time, you'll notice that we often frantically wave "Hi" and "Bye" at each other in a manner similar to what the person in the picture is doing. A helpful hint, perhaps, but not required to "get it".

I don't believe I have witnessed that tradition...or at least I do not remember that I have. I was going strictly on the letter count hint to narrow down the possibilities and try to find something appropriate. Is a hyphen really considered punctuation? I don't know, I'm just asking.
Anyway, I guess that means it's my turn...
This song is NOT AT ALL OBSCURE, but the clue might be. In an effort to not drag this out so long, I'll give several hints right upfront.
- The song originally appeared in beatmania IIDX.
- The song is also in DDR, and it gets whored out like a mofo.
- The picture clue is for a word that sounds the same but is spelled differently from the title of song I am looking for.

First line of Wiki-article.
A hyphen ( ‐ ) is a punctuation mark. Made me lol since I thought I'd have to look for a while to find it.
This is a tough one though. I'm working on an answer.
Vanity Angel perhaps?

Nope, that's not it, but thanks for the lookup on the hyphen.

Whoa...the clue is not that literal. And I don't think it's that much of a stretch either.
Remember, the clue is of a word that sounds the same as the title of the song but is spelled differently.

You has it.
The clue should have gotten you to the word 'zephyr' which can mean either a light breeze, the west wind, or the Greek god of the west wind. And of course 'zephyr' sounds just like 'xepher' but is spelled differently.
Congratulations.
