Laptop? What is this, 2005? Everyone knows smaller screens and virtual keyboards are way better. Half of owning a tablet is a show of status.

Does she have an iPhone, MicrosoftWinMo(whatever they call it) phone, or Android phone? For the sake of a consistent interface, I'd get whatever matches. I don't know about Apple, but Android tablets will automatically download all of the apps you have on your phone as soon as you sign into the tablet. Pretty handy.
