I don't follow Slenderman lore all that much but I don't seem to recall there being any sort of myth that you can be a Slenderman proxy through stabbing someone so I don't know what this whole thing is all about.
Look at me I am the man speculating over how children made up fake rules about a fake internet thing that led to a real ass stabbing. Give me $20.

Does it feel like the media publicizing the seemingly more common university shootings in the last couple of years is somewhat similar to white girls going missing getting national press but non-white violence getting little to no national attention? Even Chicago where gun violence is still ridiculously high doesn't seem to have the same traction because it's black and Puerto Rican kids killing each other.
Innocent people losing their lives is tragic, of course. But as far as I understand it, gun-related homicide is actually on the decline over the last couple of decades. Internet "slacktivism" hasn't helped produce meaningful changes, either.
WHAT ARE THE THOUGHTS IN HURRRRR?

You're completely right, but there's nothing we can do to stop it.

It's on a SUPER decline. Amount of firearms per capita has slowly risen, while gun violence has dropped a whopping 49%. However as usual, whatever the media decides to report on constantly is going to seem like it's experiencing an uprise in occurrence
When the public was polled, 56% of respondents were unaware of the declining violence and actually believed we're experiencing a rise -

That's interesting. I'll have to read that link that was posted. There are probably a lot of poor correlations to draw, so I won't draw any.
Yes, the news does give more attention to the murder of a suburban white female than a downtown residing Hispanic male.

I got $100 on Germany making it out of group play for the World Cup. I guess they went 4 - 0 against Portugal today which is really the best start you can ask for.
