they lie on the package. They say put in the microwave for 3 seconds THREE SECONDS!!! like that does anything (I've tried.) I hate poptarts for that reason (actually I'm eating them right now, but refuse to cook them in the microwave.)

Only the vending machine ones cook up in the microwave that fast because they're pre-toasted for your convenience...you're basically just heating them up. Three seconds is maybe a little short depending on the power of your microwave, but it doesn't take long. The ones you get in the store are more raw, so you're doing the final bake in the toaster and three seconds in the micro won't do much of anything.

Speaking of powerful microwaves...commercial restaurant microwaves are the bomb (and probably would make a good one). They're something like 2000+ watts. The cook at the restaurant I worked at said he could cook a chicken breast completely through in the micro in 1.5 minutes. Now that's a strong microwave!

The first and only time I ever saw sparks in my microwave was when my little brother put his Poptarts IN THE WRAPPER into the microwave to heat them up.

It was pretty cool.

...then it was pretty smelly. :(

On a slightly and completey unrelated note, don't put your socks in the microwave to warm them up. No matter what people on the TV do, and no matter how cold your feet are. Just say no.
No more eggs! :D
An actual signature will come soon, I suppose.

Vending machine Pop Tarts don't come in a foil package...more evidence that the store bought kind aren't meant to be microwaved.

Some would call me a vegetarian, but I eat meat on occasion. If you want me to explain it I will.

I think I know what you mean. Back in the day when I first decided to go Veggie, I figured I'd still eat meat once in a while. But it turned out easier for me than I thought it would.

I wont buy something with meat in it and throw the meat out, thats nonsense and doing nothing to stop the amount of meat that is bought at the place and doesn't have an impact on factory farming. I can't say that I like the taste of meat anymore though, I had some sausage and it tasted like shit, but it was mcdonalds breakfast hhahahaha. They have decent pancakes though, at least the one time I had them they were okay.
