I GUESS.
Has nothing to do with that.
Name ONE good game currently out for the PS3.
I can name many for 360 or Wii.

That's not out on Xbox or Wii?
Ratchet & Clank Future
Warhawk
Resistance: Fall of Man
And soon we'll have Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, Ridge Racer 7, Star Ocean 4, Final Fantasy XIII (still currently exclusive), Metal Gear Solid 4, LittleBigPlanet, Jak & Daxter: The Lost Frontier, Disgaea 3
And then a lot of good games on 360 are also out on PS3 or coming out, and some of those 360 games are also on PC =p.
PS3 has built in wifi, 360 does not ($100 adapter? lol)
PS3 also supports DIVX and MPEG video codecs.
And as Riot mentioned, 6/8 of the major movie companies are blu-ray exclusive now (or in Warner's case only releasing what titles in HD that are left on their contract) Paramount and Universal are the only ones left to switch, which will probably happen before 2009.
If you didn't know, I'm big on RPG's and I'm a huge GT fanboy, so PS3 was the obvious choice. Playstation has always had the best selection of RPG's, and the PS3 has a bright future ahead of it.

Ok, let's take a look at some PS3 info.
Backwards Compability for version with Emotion Engine:
DDR 3rd Mix: Not Working
DDRMAX JP: Not Working
DDRMAX2 JP: Not Working
DDR Extreme JP: Not Working
DDR Party Collection: Not Working
Beatmania IIDX 3rd Style: Not Working
Beatmania IIDX 6th Style: Not Working
Controller Compability: Give up now as even if you can get an adapter it's gonna lag out the ass and act retarded.
I don't even want to know how bad things are with the 80 gig version.
As for playable games, yea it has Ratchet and Clank Future, but the game isn't enough to convince me to buy a console. As for Resistance, that game is a classic example of overrated console shooters and Warhawk is just a yawn to me due to lack of originality.
In terms of the console wars, I'm only supporting the Wii as I saw enough good titles to justify the purchase. (Please god let Mario Kart Wii be good!) From what I've seen though I am very glad that Sony has extended the lifecycle of the PStwo for a few more years so most likely future releases of the Primary Bemani franchises (Arcade-based DDR, IIDX, Pop'N, and GF/DM) will continue on that console for atleast 2-3 more years.

The thing with Nintendo's consoles is they tend to push out all their big sellers right away (Zelda, Mario, Metroid, Smash Brothers) and then sit around until the next system comes out with very few good titles. Nintendo definitely has the best portable systems, though.

PS3 has fun games, Eye of Judgement is lots of fun, Ninja Gaiden, Heavenly Sword, among others already named. Plus Final Fantasy XIII and Metal Gear and all the ones that everyone always talks about will be good. Little Big Planet is gonna be schweeet.
Wii's initial "newness" hype has worn off and what are we left with? A bunch of boring mini-game collections or weird spinoffs. Mario Galaxy is like one of the only good games out right now worth spending the money on. I'm not pulling this out of my ass, I own a Wii, and I DON'T own a PS3. I don't ever feel any urge to play my Wii, and there's no chance in hell I'd pay $50 for any of the games out there right now.
And Xbox360 is for pseudo-gamers.

I love my Wii, for many reasons. Namely retro games, SSBB, Resident Evil(s), mii's, and general party fun-ness.
I'm inclined to prefer party-oriented platforms over anything, so of course Wii gets my vote for current console of choice. That's not to diss PS3 or 360, which both have sweet things both released and in the works, but Wii takes the cake for its ingenuity and overall appeal.

I feel that if you are a gamer, you might as well pick up Nintendo's systems.
The few games that Nintendo makes usually makes the console worth buying.
If you are a serious gamer, you'll know that almost any 3rd party games on Nintendo's platforms isn't worth buying, if you want those games, buy them for your 360 or something.
That being said, I am excited for Brawl, and I still have to pickup Mario Galaxy.

I've found that having the really cool nintendo games and playing them a lot makes them less fun...
it's way more fun when i go to someones house and play it with them rather than sitting at home and playing it by myself and getting bored with the game
and the 360 is mostly shooters that i dont like
