Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
Me: How's it going?
Annoying Person: It's going.
Me: (Asshole...)
HOW IS IT GOING! I need to make a list of responses that aren't clever, but people seem to love to throw around like they're comedians. Also on this list:
Me: How's it going?
Annoying Person: Is it Friday yet?
Me: (I guess it isn't. If it were, you'd have said, "It's going.")
Me: How's it going?
Annoying Person: I'm here ain't I?
Me: (You are universally disliked.)
EDIT: Misspelled they're. Oops.

This is crazy =/
Saw it live a few days ago on TV, was awesome. Luckiest dude ever. I wonder what the actual probability of all that happening was lol.

Well, I'd say it was about 1% for that happening, assuming a random guess for each number.
(1/10)*(1/10) = 1%
Or, another way, there's one correct combination of numbers out of 100 possibilities. 1/100 = 1.0%
Yeahhhhh finite mathematics and shit, pretty lucky indeed!

It isn't pure luck. You could argue skill went into that (at least the number guessing part.)Merk wrote:Well, I'd say it was about 1% for that happening, assuming a random guess for each number.

Re: [Grubb's] Random Thoughts of the Day
Exactly, if he had already known the exact price of the vehicle then his probability of winning would be 100%
On the other side of the spectrum, a complete guess would succeed 1% of the time. If he knew every number but the last digit and the last digit was on one of the extreme edges of the range (0, 1, 2, 7, 8, 9) then his probability of success would be somewhere between 90% and 70% depending on the number.
Something like that, I enjoy spouting random number shit.

But wouldn't it be like a probability of winning the first game, times the probability of spinning 100, times the probability of spinning 100 again, and then I guess multiplied by whatever chance there is to win the showcase.

For anyone that goes to ACen and remembers the annoying guy at the Bemani Panel, my friend Dustin put this together tonight for fun.
