Has an "official" song list been released yet?

Learn how to play with the new voice assisted Tutorial Mode
Put your dancing skills to the test with the new Battle Mode - counter opponent attacks and change the game in real-time
Designed to support linking features to future iterations of the series for home video gaming consoles
Does anyone know about any of this either?

The voice assisted tutorial is similar to easy station on Pump combined with beginner mode on DDR and beginner mode on ITG, and with voice prompts. It's not too bad in terms of teaching game mechanics, though it does give you a "countdown" in real time rather than music time. I guess this makes sense for true beginners, but it could teach bad habits.
The battle mode is somewhat lame in my opinion. It's basically magic dance brought back. You "attack" you opponent, seemingly randomly (I couldn't figure out how to control it) with mods. These mostly consist of speed mods and arrow skins. You cannot apply speed mods on top of it, so it almost HELPS to get "attacked" with x2 or x3 for most players. Basically make sure you can read 0.25x/Flat: you're going to have to. It has nothing on Battle Station on Exceed 2, but then I am the battle station masta' :) There may be a way to control it somehow, in which case it could be passable. I only played one game (three song set) of it.
I'm not sure about the linking. I presume this is similar to the CS/AC link used on the Japanese DDR versions (for those of you who have actually seen a DDR machine with memory card slots - rare in Indiana - that's what those are for). Basically, it would keep track of scores, possibly internet ranking codes, and would probably let you load edit steps (yea edit mode!). If done like previous versions of DDR, this would be done with PS2 memory cards and the home versions of DDR. If they link it on e-amuse, all the bettter, but I don't think most arcades in the US have the infrastructure requires (a constant internet connection) for that. A realtime worldwide ranking would be cool as all hell, and maybe they'll bring IIDX stateside with e-amuse if it takes off, pretty please? :) E-amuse cards are the magnetic surface things like are used for Initial D.

Actually, if done like previous version of DDR, they'd use PS1 memory cards.
Personally, if they don't do eamuse, I'd actually prefer they go with a more platform-independent module like a USB stick (ala ITG). I haven't been following the next-gen consoles, but USB support doesn't seem terribly exotic.

I know one at indiana beach does, and how does that work? Is it done on the ps2 or the machine?

You'll need a copy of DDR 5th Mix JP CS. This is an original Playstation game, but you can run it on a suitable PS2 (modded or Japanese - I don't know that regular swap sets have a swap disc for PSX games). Go into it, select arcade link, and "create new link data". I'll make DDRMAX style link data which will be updated to Extreme when you put it in an Extreme machine. You can also export edits and copy them onto the memory card, and they'll show up when you hit >> on the stage when that song is highlighed in the selection screen.
You put your card in at the main title screen: text at the bottom will show that the card has been inserted and recognized. As a warning, memory card access on the machine is incredibly slow, and it'll add a good 30 seconds to game turnaround time, more if you have the whole card filled with edits.
Also, you have to use a regular PSX memory card, not a PS2 card. I was extrapolating that possibly PS2 cards would be used since all the new versions (and what most people in the US have ever heard of) are PS2 (or xbox), not PSX. I do agree that something cross platform would be nice. Both the xbox and PS2 have working USB (heck, xbox controllers are just USB on a different plug - Microsoft will apparently send you an adapter for free).

I think I will try out SuperNova, but i have heard some horrible things about it. Has a song list been posted for it yet or not? if so, someone please give me the link! (and if so on this topic, i haven't taken the time to read the posts so i may have missed it!)

There's a list there. Not sure of how accurate it is, nor am I sure if that's the finished Supernova song list. (I remember counting less than 300 songs and I recall something on the machine boasting a song list with over 300 songs) [Edit: I counted 271.]
